Official Mitchell and Ness Thread: Jerseys, Hats, Shirts, Shorts, Questions POST EM UP

I was just trying to keep the discussion alive so it's more constructive toward specifics on how to identify reps vs authentic retail Dons.

Drawstrings too long or too short = fake or real pairs? no conclusion
Inside tags Chinese vs English = fake or real pairs? (the 80% cotton tag is obviously from a fleece hoodie) - no real conclusion
I posted a comparison pic of the jerry logo between 2 other pairs from authentic sources = wrong guesses by NTers here and no further insight - no actual conclusion.

was it possible that piece-mealed pairs made it to the retail market? no real constructive feedback (I worked in the clothing industry in the past so I know that samples are gets made for sales reps - these pairs would be missing retail tags, or tags put on as place-holders. Asian tags would also be diff from US tags because the US has regulations that require specific information to be put on tags. I also know clothing companies would make the bulk of the product in oversea factories and then swap labels with compliance info once received in the US - to include RN#, MFG DATE, etc)

Anyways, that's why I was all over this topic tbh - peeps here who threw out TRR pairs are reps/fakes - how bad is it, and how to confirm realistically? no conclusion, but they are fake. sure. ok (shrug). There was a lot of knee-jerk response on minor details and to me is actually more misleading than educational.
This discussion was highly productive. I learned one of my shorts is fake and imma just stick with oneness or bstn.

You take a risk buying from anywhere else besides a retailer. Iono why some of y’all shocked there’s fakes on therealreal…
Yep and my conclusion at this point is aligned with the rest of the feedback here. (finally) TRR sells reps. but man, these reps are getting ridiculously close to retail pair quality.

For the Lakers home edition - my buddy brought over his legit pair from BSTN and we tried comparing the 2.

Attached picture has are some more details to use as guide.

Logo:
- The middle part of the E, the white bottom layer of the tackle twill should be "sharply" curve to almost touch the top part and the bottom part of the E.
- The gap between the R/S. The upper side of the bottom of the "S" should curve sharper upward.

Inner tags - beyond obvious tag differences (mine did say 100% polyester) it was difficult to tell one from the other. But,
- the hardwood classic on the legit pair is stitched on flush, while the TRR pair was stitching was "slightly" messier.
- The "Just Don" Tag felt smoother on the legit pair, while the TRR pair felt "rougher". (this is not easy to tell without a reference point form a legit pair).

I'm gonna take the L for the rep. My buddy was lokey bewildered because he paid more than double for the BSTN pair vs me, and if we never did this exercise (and me showing him this thread) he would never have known the difference. During actual wear and the logo is partially covered. by a shirt/top/hoodie its impossible to tell the difference. Dimensions of both pairs are on point with one-another. SMH.

Also if i ever catch another dude staring at my crotch super hard in public I gonna assume is one of you that read this post. lol.

This shall end my contribution to this topic.

To add to the TRR talk, the white Warriors joints I bought had zippers on the side pockets. Def fakes.

I don’t think every pair of Dons on there are reps, but it is a head scratcher when you see FSRs of them pop up. Especially some of these older pairs like Magic, Warriors and Pistons.

I bought the same white Warriors shorts and they too had zippers on the side pockets which was completely wrong. Also the inside tags were the newer ones, it should have been the earlier Just Don tag.

M&N needs to make that Vday and OKC hornets CP3 authentic. Easily some of the best jerseys he’s ever worn.

They really do beat you over the head with letting you know about the exclusives, even in store 😂
