all jokes aside, if you were to compare Kevin Love to a current or past NBA'er who would it be?

i see a lot of brad miller and david west in his game.

david west with a 3pt shot

and why brad miller? is it becausetheyre both white?

brad miller is/was a good scorer, very good passer and solid rebounder, and i see that in love too.

Here's my ideal situation for the Sixers....

1) Do what you have to do to draft either DJ Augustine or Mario Chalmers. If this means moving up 2-4 spots, do it. Andre Miller won't be here much longer, and Lou is a shooting guard, not a point guard.
2) Sign Elton Brand
3) Resign Andre Iguodala to a NON-MAX contract

Every mock I've read has the Sixers going after a PF/C. I'd prefer the PG, but if we go PF/C....
-Marreese Speights: I'd be happy with this. He's like a young, taller Elton Brand. Could be a beast.
-Anthony Randolph: Maybe he'll turn out to be Tyrus Thomas, but he's way too skinny. If he bulks up, could be real nice.
-Kosta Koufos: Eh. If we want an outside shooter, draft a shooting guard. Sammy can already shoot from 15 feet.
-Donte Greene: We do NOT need another small forward.
-DeAndre Jordan: I could live with it. But he's more of a center than a power forward and we already have Dalembert and Smith.
-Robin Lopez: I don't want this stiff.

I'm very excited to see what Ed Stafanski does in his first draft with the Sixers.
Bower: Reported deal not official
By: Jim Eichenhofer, Hornets.com
Hornets general manager Jeff Bower spoke to the media for about 20 minutes at the Alario Center this afternoon, to address a report that New Orleans has traded its first-round pick to Portland. Bower explained that the trade is not a done deal.
"Contrary to reports, we have not made a deal for our pick that has been finalized and approved by the league office at this time," Bower said. "As we're all aware, until that final approval takes place, we don't have a deal. We have been in discussions about possibly looking into other options for the pick, but at this time, I can't tell you a deal has been finalized and approved by the league office."

This team is making my head hurt.......

What the hell?

Judging by some of the guys we're looking at, I don't even know if I want the pick anymore.

I think the transaction the Hornets should make is finding new scouts.

Agree with ya homie. I hope Ed does the right thing.

Even though part of me wants him to pull off something HUGE out of nowhere...pipe dream.

I like Stefanski because I don't think he's one who would go for a huge splash that may or may not pay off (ie: King getting Webber, ugh). Stafanski is there to continue building a solid foundation that will put the Sixers in good condition for the next 5-10 years.

Our scouts are HORRIBLE. Armstorng, J.R. Smith, and Cedric Simmons???? Julian fell to us and CP was the obvious pick at that spot, cause Kevin O'Connerhad a man crush for somebody else. So I only give credit for David West.
%%@! is depressing as a fan......

Yeah you do have a point. I trust whatever descisions he makes tomorrow.

Still though..it would sure wake me the hell up.

I also expect my other team Charlotte to do well tomorrow..best case scenario..Westbrook at 9..Hibbert at 20

C- Hibbert
PF- Okafor
SF- G-Force
SG- J Rich
PG- Felton/Westbrook

This team is making my head hurt.......

I think it's because that one dude the Blazers wanted @ #27, released a memo to all the teams saying he wants to stay overseas another year, and tonot draft him.

Portland probably backed out of the deal.

I think Robin Lopez is probably gonna be hanging out in the Green Room a little longer than Deandre Jordan tomorrow night...hopefully...

And I really hope Nicholas Batum falls to the Rockets.

This %%#+%@%%+%+! BOWER is $+%#!@# WITH TOO MANY PEOPLE EMOTIONS......
Hornets general manager Jeff Bower declined to confirm the trade, saying nothing is official until the league approves it. However, he talked about how the Hornets' could benefit in free agency by taking cash for their only pick in this year's NBA draft.
The Hornets fell one victory short of the Western Conference finals this past season, losing in seven games to the San Antonio Spurs in the second round. Bower said it is rare for a rookie selected in the bottom fifth of the draft's opening round to be a difference-maker on a team looking to contend for a championship. "That type of production normally comes two or three years down the road," Bower said. The Hornets' rebuilding years are behind them, however, and head coach Byron Scott has only two seasons on his current contract. With a starting lineup that includes All-Stars Chris Paul and David West, along with perimeter sharpshooter Peja Stojakovic and 7-foot-1 center Tyson Chandler, the goal is to contend for a title next season. Conventional wisdom points to free agency as the fastest way to make the Hornets, who won a franchise-record 56 games in the regular season, a better playoff team. "We have to make the judgment as to where we can get the quickest help," Bower said. "So we're looking at, really, from a draft pick at 27 or maybe we're better served looking at other avenues." With no incoming rookies, the Hornets would add money that would otherwise have been spent on draft choices into their pot for free agency -- in addition to cash received from another team in a trade, which could be as high as $3 million under league rules, Bower said.
I'm going to boycott my League Pass next season, if this idiot doesn't make the team better this summer.....

And I really hope Nicholas Batum falls to the Rockets.
Word.

I think the Rockets are gonna get played though, just like how they did with Brandon Roy a couple of years ago, ie, a team snatching up the Rockets' guylike two spots ahead of them.

Every mock draft I've looked at has him going like 1, 2, or 3spots ahead of our pick

We need another C too though, and it sucksthat there probably aren't going to be any good ones left when we pick. Koufos falling to us is my ultimate dream for this draft, but it's nothappening. We should either sell the pick or try to move up.

Word on the Street: Denver trades #20 pick to Charlotte

by:
June 25, 2008
Second Trade Completed

After Portland and New Orleans completed the first trade of the NBA draft--with the Hornets selling the #27 pick to the Blazers for cash--we appear to have our second deal completed as well. Multiple NBA teams informed us that according to their intel, the Denver Nuggets have moved out of this year's first round, trading the #20 pick to Charlotte in exchange for a future first round pick (lottery protected). At 20, Charlotte is expected to take Roy Hibbert, who Larry Brown is reportedly extremely high on.

Indiana-Toronto Trade Back On Track?

Those same teams indicating that Denver and Charlotte had reached an accord also think that the Indiana-Toronto trade could be back on track as well. The trade would send Jermaine O'Neal to Toronto in exchange for T.J. Ford, the #17 pick, and Rasho Nesterovic. At #17, Indiana would likely select Robin Lopez or Kosta Koufos according to our sources.

edit: The trade is done.

Sacramento Likes Mike Taylor

Look for the Kings to draft D-League combo guard Mike Taylor with the 42nd or 43rd pick in the draft tomorrow night, if he's still on the board at that point. Geoff Petrie has always been a fan of having a combo guard he can throw in off the bench-he hasn't really had a quality scoring option in that mold since Bobby Jackson. Sacramento's experiments with Ronnie Price and most recently Quincy Douby haven't worked out thus far.

As far as the first round is concerned-now that Indiana has landed T.J. Ford and are likely no longer in the running for a point guard with the #11 pick (Darrell Arthur and Kosta Koufos look like solid candidates), it looks very likely that the Kings could luck out and land D.J. Augustin with the 12th overall pick. The Kings would consider themselves very fortunate to land a player of Augustin's caliber this far down in the draft.

Where is Batum's Physical?

Multiple teams reached out to us today wondering whether we have gotten a hold of Nicolas Batum's physical yet. Batum underwent a series of heart tests in Cleveland on Monday and was cleared for workouts immediately afterwards, but still his physical is nowhere to be found. Batum traveled to San Antonio immediately after and was supposed to work out for Cleveland today. Some teams openly are wondering whether San Antonio gave Batum a promise and asked him to not distribute his physical around the league, which would make him very likely to slip to 26.

Batum is obviously a great fit in San Antonio, as the team already has two French players on their roster (Tony Parker and Ian Mahinmi) and sport a very aging perimeter with wing players such as Michael Finley (35 years old), Brent Barry (36 years old) and Bruce Bowen (37 years old) who will soon be clearing up plenty of playing time for an athletic, unselfish, defensive minded prospect such as Batum. He appears to be fully healthy, but it appears that only the Spurs and the Cavs currently have his physical. Multiple calls to Batum's agent Bouna Ndiaye were not returned.

Ibaka Wants to Go Second Round

An email from Serge Ibaka's agent Justin Zanik to every NBA team circulated on Wednesday evening, which may drop his client's stock into the 2nd round. Ibaka reportedly has an attractive four year contract offer from two separate ACB teams in Spain, which would provide him with a great deal of financial security, and also allow him to develop in a very comfortable environment. The contracts would have an NBA out after two seasons, but with a considerable buyout. Should Ibaka be drafted in the late first round, according to Zanik, "it would be a great burden to him to make the transition to the NBA if he is locked into the first round salary scale."

It appears that Ibaka, who we heard had many fans amongst teams such as Seattle (24), San Antonio (26), Memphis (28), Detroit (29) and Boston (30), seems very likely to drop past all those teams now.

Quick Hitters

-After conducting at least half a dozen "group mock drafts" with NBA teams today, it seems like the biggest debate is what is going to happen with Minnesota at #3. About half of the people we spoke with see Kevin Love going here, while the other half has O.J. Mayo. The player that doesn't go third will likely go fifth.

-JaVale McGee seems pretty confident that he won't slip past 19…

-The rumors that the Cavs are trying to move up and get the 13th pick from Portland (to select Brandon Rush) seem to be overstated.

-One trade that is definitely being discussed is Portland swapping picks with New Jersey. According to the rumor, the Trailblazers would send the #13 pick and Jarrett Jack to the Nets for Marcus Williams (who the Nets are extremely down on) and the #10 pick. Portland would love to get Russell Westbrook or Jerryd Bayless here, but would probably settle for Eric Gordon or D.J. Augustin as well.

-At #18, it looks like the Wizards are trying to decide between JaVale McGee and Darrell Arthur. It appears like both players will be there.

-At #8, it looks pretty much set that Milwaukee will take Joe Alexander.

So, am I the only one who really thinks Beasley is not going #2? The more and more I think about it, the more I think either one of two things are going tohappen.

1) OJ Mayo will be the second selection in the draft.
2) The Heat will trade for a later pick in which they think Mayo will fall to.

Riley seems to hate the dude, and it's just sorta like an inch that I can't scratch, just a strange feeling.

There's a glitch in the Matrix.

Beasley will go #2. But, I think Pat turns right around and tries to ship him off.

I think teams who want Beasley will call Pat's bluff (him not being big on Beasley) and makes him select him. And then deal from there, instead of a teamtrading up to the #2 spot and selecting Beasley for themselves. I think it gives other teams more wiggle room in dealing with Pat, as opposed to trade talksabout moving up to the #2 spot.
