its sad to see that two of the most fun to watch team gotta face each other in the first round, and that one of them are gonna be eliminated.

Ovechkin vs Richards
Huet vs Biron

fraij: please dont remind me. Sabres are young and traded away Campbell at the deadline but with the playoff experience the group had they should of at leastbeen able to grab the 8th seed. Way too many leads given away, flat performances on the road and dissapointing performances at home. I think the Sabres had asub-.500 record at home. Unacceptable.

At first glance, these are my predictions

1st round:

Montreal defeats Boston 4-1
Ottawa defeats Pittsburgh 4-2
Philadelphia defeats Washington 4-2
New York defeats New Jersey 4-2

Detroit defeats Nashville 4-2
San Jose defeats Calgary 4-2
Minnesota defeats Colorado 4-2
Anaheim defeats Dallas 4-1

2nd:

Montreal defeats Ottawa 4-2
New York defeats Philadelphia 4-2

Anaheim defeats Detroit 4-3
San Jose defeats Minnesota 4-3

3rd:

Montreal defeats New York 4-2
San Jose defeats Anaheim 4-2

Finals:

San Jose defeats Montreal 4-1

Washington stays at 3rd seed still if they win and advance to 2nd round, right? They don't reseed based on points, they would determine matchups based onthe seeds given before the playoffs? So the highest seed remaining would play the lowest seed remaining...

Sharks have a great chance this year with their current squad, let's do this

.

Overall, the first round match ups are looking great. Dallas/Anaheim, NJ/NY, Ottawa/Pittsburgh

I see the best series will be the 4/5 match-ups in both the West and the East.

Looking forward to it.

Lets go Wings. Hopefully Stuart won't be too rusty. Niky Lid looks to be his dominate self. Worried about the goaltending. No confidence in either eventhough they have both brought cups back to the D.

man im not even gonna lie...im not too happy that we drew the canadiens in round 1
laugh.gif

that being said,

Bruins in 6

i will say, after the bruins, i'd like to see my boy Joe Thornton and the sharks take it

best first round series will most likely be my Flyers taking on the Caps...two young up and coming teams that could win a a cup or two a piece in the next 10yrs

rangers vs devils is going to be a good and tough series.

rangers need to step it the hell up though. they need this to be a successful playoff run.

I'd love to see the Pens/Canadiens come out of the East and SJ or ANA out of the West. That Philly/Washington series is going to be an exciting one towatch as well, not really sure who I'd take though it's so up in the air.

let's start bumping this thread with the start of the playoffs tomorrow, let the regular season thread slowly die

Man, I'd say 'let's go bruins,' but the habs have been raping our organization for decades. And this year is no different

I cant wait. This is going to be a really awesome playoff year I think. So many good stories like the Capitals, the Sharks, the Pens, Montreals unbelievablerun. Its going to be fun to watch. Can't wait for tomorrow.
