but cumon now, it's not like there was any ever doubt about who Chris was. his catchphrase is "let's get after it" and he kept trying to make it stick but it never worked. but if we are going to judge him, let's not forget he was the one who called his mom and had to keep reminding Andrew to call her during the pandemic. dude was an early covid adopter, sweating like a pig, his wife had locked him in the basement Parasite-style, and he still had the wherewithal to call his mom.

I just hope this doesn't put a strain on his relationship with don lemahn :frown:

Before 1970 or so the dominant mode of US history was two thing: admire George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson et al.and also, respect those who overcame obstacles. This was crucial for the main goal of US history education which as twofold: accepting that the US constitution and its early founder were uniquely inspired and that their document was singularly just. The other objective was to tell poor kids, especially poor white kids that bring poor was normal and natural and that overcoming those obstacles was a good and natural state of affairs.

As American became more diverse and marginalized groups became more organized and able to agitate, during the 60’s and 70’s, US history education had to add a third element. Our schools grafted on another element to the history narrative, it reluctantly would add the story of black and indigenous people. It was supposed to be a marginal part of the cuticular which would help to buttress the founding fathers worship and the bootstraps propaganda elements.

To the horror of conservatives, the second element, the part about admiring those who overcame adversity, caused many students, including white students to hold people like Harriet Tubman and Martin Luther King Jr. in higher esteem than George Washington or Thomas Jefferson.

Now, conservatives are scrambling and trying to suppress the third element of US history, the story of non white heroes, and preserve the first element, the veneration of the Founders.

Before he was executed by the state of Arkansas in April 2017, Lee gave some of his last words to the BBC, telling the broadcaster, "My dying words will always be, as it has been: I am an innocent man."

How many innocent people are on or were on death row? Evidence like unknown dna on the murder weapon seems like something that would have been found a long time ago.
