I've always found the US' deep ties to religion rather disturbing. Aside from our muslim politicians, I honestly don't have a clue about the religious beliefs of other politicians in our government. It's never mentioned. I would guess that the majority is probably atheist.

Personally I wouldn't vote for a government official who has to bring up religion constantly.

If there were really nothing to it,there wouldn't be classified and unclassified hearings on the topic along with concurrent federal investigations. A GOP controlled executive and legislative branch would've made this go away with a quickness if there was no fire to the smoke...

Given the early stage of the investigation and the scope of it I don't see how you can rationally come to that conclusion. An investigation of this scale will undoubtedly take more than a few months. It's also perfectly possible for democrats to do both of those things.
