In da words of da great doctor Ben Carson, if these kids had the right mindset they'd have food in abundance

NO DOUBT B. TOO MANY INFANTS DON'T HAVE DA RIGHT MINDSET B. Too busy CRYING LIBBIE TEARS sipping MILK B.

If there every was a biography to Ben Carson's post medical life, I picture it being a combination of Inception and Get Out.

It is like ole girl went into the sunken place and hypnotized him again and again. I dunno how deep Leo would have to go to drag some sense out of this man

Not even a nuclear flash could snap that him out of it.

He drove the 49ers out of the city :smh:
I'm not going to hold that against him. The only place you can put any stadium and generate revenue for the city is in downtown. There is no place to put a stadium of any kind in downtown SF. Look at the 49ers now, they're using tax dollars from Santa Clara for stadium events and maintenance.

And a city should not be subsidizing a billionaire owner sorry. You want a new stadium? Fine then finance it yourself since you're taking in all the profits. The tax dollars they generate are laughable vs. the amount of money many of these owners get from municipalities.

if SF wants to subsidize a building how bout getting rid of your dumb zoning laws and build some affordable housing?

how can you be mad a mayor saying no to a stafium boondogle,

A man fatally stabbed two passengers aboard a Portland, Oregon, commuter train after they tried to stop him from harassing two young women who appeared to be Muslim, police said on Saturday.

Police identified the assailant, who was arrested soon after the Friday afternoon attack, as Jeremy Joseph Christian of Portland, a 35-year-old convicted felon.

A senior researcher with the Southern Poverty Law Center, in a blog post, said Christian's Facebook page showed he held "some racist and other extremist beliefs."

The attack unfolded hours before the start of Ramadan, Islam's holy month, when most of the world's 1.6 billion Muslims observe a daily religious fast.

Christian started shouting ethnic and religious slurs, apparently at the two young women, one of whom wore a Muslim head-covering, the Portland Police Department said in a statement.

Three men who intervened were stabbed. One died at the scene, another died at a hospital, and the third was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Christian was booked on two counts of aggravated murder and charges of attempted murder, intimidation and being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon, and was ordered held without bail.

The women left the train before officers arrived, police said.

Dyjuana Hudson, the mother of one of them, told The Oregonian newspaper her 16-year-old daughter, who is black, boarded the train with a Muslim friend, also a teenager, who was wearing a hijab.

The attacker approached the girls while screaming at them, Hudson told the newspaper, relaying an account her daughter had given her. "He was saying that Muslims should die," Hudson said.

On Friday police said detectives wanted to speak to the two women. A detective later took a statement from her family, Hudson told the paper. She could not be reached for comment.

Police declined to release details of Christian's criminal history. But the newspaper reported he had been convicted of robbery, kidnapping and weapon charges, citing court records. It was not immediately clear if he had obtained an attorney.

In a statement, the Council on American-Islamic Relations blamed an increase in anti-Muslim incidents in part on President Donald Trump's focus on militant Islamist groups and anti-immigrant rhetoric.

The administration has said that while it strongly opposes Islamist militants, it has no quarrel with Islam.

A Facebook page that appears to belong to Christian mentions "Jihadi Muslims" among people he disliked. The image on the page matches a photo of Christian released by police.

"If Donald Trump is the Next Hitler then I am joining his SS to put an end to Monotheist Question," a rambling post on Jan. 23 reads.

The page includes images of Christian raising his right hand in a Nazi-like salute at a "Free Speech" protest in Portland last month.

-San Francisco was smart to let the team go given the conditions.

-I am not opposed to subsidizing sports stadium in theory. But the deals that are cut are usually horrible.

-Osh is right about zoning laws.

-I agree about affordable housing by that implies private buildings with government subsidies. On the issue of housing I am not center left, I am full blown socialist.

I am more in the camp of cities, states and the Federal government building more and better public housing. A lot of public housing in smaller cities a success stories, and most public housing in states are great. They are the ones we give to college students. Where as the ones we give to poor minorities, especially in major cities, are usually left to turn to ****.

Another thing I am full blown socialist on is public transportation. I believe the federal government should build out a large national public transportation service. IMO States cater too much to middle class commuters in suburbia. And many cities and counties fall way short, people in urban areas still have to spend too much time making transfers, and public transportation in rural poor areas is abysmal.

But alas, too many bad politicians exist that will sink great socialist policy, even on the left. .
