I hope you ain't cop that lifetime package  Those subscriptions ain't never been cheap bruh:lol:

There was a story that came out awhile back that the founder wasn't paying writers for their articles but was still posting their work on the site. From what I've been told their catalyst Journal is much better than the main site. I've read some solid pieces off of there from Lester Spence,Adolph Reed, and Cedric Johnson. And those are serious academic writers. You'll read pieces like this https://catalyst-journal.com/vol1/no1/panthers-cant-save-us-cedric-johnson and then run into some nonsense on their main site. The BS can undermine the good work they have done no doubt (Like downplaying the role of slavery in the Haitian Revolution).

Alot of sites are ideologically driven which can cloud their ability to perform real sound analysis at times. And it doesn't make it any better that alot of solid writers reside more in academic and activist spaces than they do in News so their work isn't particularly covered like that ( Gerald Horne comes to mind).

Only subscriptions I've come out of pocket for have been The Economist, NYT, The Nation, and The Atlantic. Other places I've donated to because they don't have a physical magazine and delivery service like your mainstream outlets.
I took a class on black politics with Cedric Johnson as a graduate student. One of the best classes I’ve ever taken. Extremely smart dude and a good guy, as well.

He put me on to Adolph Reed, who I consider to be probably the smartest and most thought-provoking political writer and cultural critic around.

Damn I haven’t posted on NT in forever

Only way to stop this nonsense. I propose building a wall around Libbie states to keep them away from the rest of us. California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Minnesota, Michigan, Maine Vermont, New York New Jersey, New Hampshire, Washington, Oregon and any other Lib state.
Amen.

We whites in coalservative states are only doing what we have to do to survive. George Soros is a dangerous man. He was responsible for the Holocaust and there's no telling what he'll do here. He's already burnt down half of California to make way for a high-speed rail so that he can shuttle immigrants into red states to vote. He wants to finish the socialist project that globalist libbie Dwight D. Eisenhower started by building the interstate highways. SMH WOW.

These globalists want to make it so that anyone in the United States can go visit any of the other states and do trade and business without paying tariffs or passing through customs. REALLY? This is not the America we promised our children. Save us, Brett Keganaugh.

Comey invites House Republicans to hold public hearing after news of possible subpoena
Former FBI Director James Comey invited House Republicans to hold a public hearing following a report from The Hill on Friday that House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) is planning to subpoena him to testify before Democrats take control of the committee.

“House Republicans can ask me anything they want but I want the American people to watch, so let’s have a public hearing. Truth is best served by transparency. Let me know when is convenient,” Comey tweeted Friday.
The GOP chairman on Friday provided notice to Rep. Jerrold Nadler (N.Y.), the top Democrat on the panel and presumed incoming chairman, that he intends to subpoena Comey and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

Goodlatte plans to subpoena the pair to discuss their decisionmaking during the 2016 presidential election, a committee aide told The Hill on Friday. Republicans on the panel are seeking to have Comey appear for a deposition on Nov. 29 and for Lynch to testify Dec. 5.

Republicans are keen to question Comey over records he reportedly made of his private conversations with President Trump. During congressional testimony last year, the former FBI director said he kept records of such meetings because he felt the president inappropriately asked him to make a loyalty pledge while he was leading the FBI's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The president has denied making such a request.

Comey has also held that he did not disclose classified information when he shared some of the records' contents with a friend, Columbia University law professor Daniel Richman. Richman shared the information verbally with The New York Times, in what became a successful maneuver to prompt the appointment of a special counsel — Robert Mueller.

Under Judiciary Committee rules, the chairman must consult the ranking member at least two business days before issuing any subpoena — suggesting that the move could be imminent.

“It is unfortunate that the outgoing Majority is resorting to these tactics," Nadler said in a statement Friday.

"Months ago, Director Comey and Attorney General Lynch both indicated their willingness to answer the Chairman’s questions voluntarily. My understanding is that the Republicans have had no contact with either the Director or the Attorney General since," he added, stating that the subpoenas are "coming out of the blue."

House Republicans, particularly those in the right-wing Freedom Caucus, sought to compel Comey to testify behind closed doors earlier this year. Comey declined, saying he would testify in a public setting.
