thoughts on the current status of the team?

personally, i'm loving the moves they're making, since we apparently have eleventy-billion 1st round picks over the next five years, but with all therecent trades and durant with "flu-like symptoms" as of tuesday (missing his own bobblehead night... lame), are we gonna be able tofield a team of 5 against b-roy and portland tomorrow!??

solutions:
a) fan drawings..... "congratulations to the fans sitting in section 115 row 11! you'll be suiting up against portland tonight!"
b) 3-on-3: green, watson, swift VS b-roy, outlaw, aldridge
c) (most likely) we play all the new guys with no prep-time or team practices (i.e. team chemistry = pick-up game = wack.)

...in the bigger picture, however, it sounds like david stern is supporting (or atleast accepting) the proposed move to OKC. and, the rat bastard clay ishiring the type of lawyers that embody all the "lawyers are evil" jokes: Byrnes and Keller LLP (specialists in defending scum likebig tobacco companies).

it's not looking good, supes fans.

i like them, I mean they can be looked at two ways. We are going young and planning for the future, OR we are getting rid of payroll, so Clayton Bennet can golean, lose as little money as he can during the next two years and then get out of Seattle with a team having lost a controlled amount by stripping payroll tonear nothing.

3 words to desrcibe the sonics situation...."wamp wamp wamp"....cant believe we arent gonna have a nba team

I cant believe I actually dont care anymore.
I feel like thats what they wanted......apathy from the Seattle fans to make the move easier.
well it worked(in my case), and these trades helped with that.
I understand that we werent gonna win anything anytime soon, but these trades just push the timetable out even further. We might have billions under the salarycap, but who'd wanna come to this team...especially if they move to OKC(no disrespect to OKC, but c'mon).
really though, I used to be mad at Bennett, but I cant blame dude. if the Sonics left, and I got super rich 15 years from now, I'd buy a team to bring theNBA back to Seattle, so him trying to bring the NBA to OKC isnt all bad. I just dont like the way dudes goin about it.

Im gonna get my B.Roy jersey and call it a season........

i'm ok with the moves. i knew we were gonna suck for a while so this really doesn't change anything there. plus we got 2 first rounders in each of thenext 3 drafts. only problem is whether or not the team will still be in seattle. imma be watching that march 4th vote in okc closely. anyone going to the gametonight?

I was also at the game Tuesday and thought it was a huge b move by Durant to miss his own bobblehead night. I'll be there again tonight to see B-Roy andBlazers - free tickets are free tickets!

Anyone listen to KJR today? It's been awesome. The Glove is on right now. All the interviews and segments from the day will be online.

Our team right now is filled with expiring contracts. Sure that might be good for the long term, but for basketball fans and sonics fans alike, I don'tanyone will support this *%!+ hole of a team with the roster we have now. It will take us centuries before we get better - and like dude stated above, ourteam will have a hard time attracting BIG NAME free agents regardless if our team stays in Seattle or OKC. The only reason pple are goin to Sonics gamesnowadays are to see the away teams. With that said, who's goin to the LAKERS game on Sunday??? I'll be donning my Kobe authentic

^^^i don't think he's ever played a solid minute of meaningful basketball, and yet, he prolly has more money than any of us will ever have.

Robert Swift is the new age Rich King. Their careers are following parallel paths.

dude's out for the rest of the year. again. team didn't pick up his option so it's not looking good for him being in the league much longer

do you have any idea where to get the podcast? i wanna hear what the glove had to say.....krj950 has such a %+%%$% website...way too hard to figure outwhat is going on

Did anyone listen to the KJR950 replay of game 7 of the 1996 western conference finals against Utah? They played the audio from the tv broadcast rather thanthe actual radio broadcast, so it was pretty crappy. Still kinda cool though.

Boo is the fact Clay Bennett says he needs half a billion for a new arena here, when he only needs $120 million there. Why not ask for $120 million here forupgrades. The city would be willing to chip in for that. Hell, I'm sure there's enough big money locals here who would gladly fork a huge chunk of thatover.

^That is the easiest question in all of this to answer.

Because he never wanted the team to remain here and never wanted an offer on the table that Seattle would cooperate with, now he gets to move which has alwaysbeen his intention.

exactly. it's so obvious but stern and bennett go on acting like there ain't nothing going on. what a bunch of bs

somebody on the radio said that if there is no team in OK City by June of 2009, then those funds wont be approved.
That court date we have to keep the sonice in the kye till 2010 seems like it just got a lil more serious, assuming that guy on the radio was correct

My friend's dad was one of the first 150 employees of Microsoft and hates Steve Ballmer because he's an unapologetic cutthroat businessman, but in thisscenario, he's the guy you want. Ballmer could make Clay Bennett cry by just glaring at him. The guy with the most expensive season tickets on the court isgonna get his day, and we may never hear much about it. But it will happen.
