OG Carmine VI with "23" ?

Hmmmm...these are interesting.  I don't remember any regional releases in 1991 (I think the first regional release was the city versions of the Air Jordan X in 1995.)  I checked out the additional photos and all the components seem historically correct.  The midsoles are yellowing, glue has dried, and leather is cracking.  The tag isn't a SAMPLE tag which is also correct for that time period.  I seem to vaguely remember seeing these in an issue of BOON, the Japanese sneaker magazine.  I would guess that they are probably a look-see sample created to test either the number placement or paint application, or an unauthorized one-off from a factory.

My mate still got his OG pair from 1991 and they definitely do not have a "23" on the side.

I'm surprised they actually made multiple pairs of those. The 23 puts an eyesore into a flawless design. It didn't even look good for the time. Regardless, would love to have a DS pair in the collection.

carmines shouldnt retro in 2012 since they just dropped in CDP....people need to learn that sometimes they actually have to hunt for kicks...imo if u dont have the opportunity for a shoe, then too bad, get a job and cop.....its your loss...

I had the OGs, they were hard enough to find back then.
I think they only released during December and were gone
quick. If these did come out back then they were really rare.

   Whatever, the 3s from the packs are releasing this year and the 9s came out last year. 

Some people need to learn.
