Well, I remember him using it in Pulp Fiction, and even in Inglorious. I just always wondered why. I get the "real" angle in terms of characters, but lil white dude really gonna say dead _ storage to Jules in PF? Really? I dunno about that.
If you remember, Tarantino's wife in Pulp Fiction was Black.  He also had Jules Winnfield's complete respect.

So I just watched I Am Number Four, and I'll be darned it was alright. Not great, had some lame things here and there, but I thought the idea was decent, just needed some refining is all. 6.5 outta 10. Bout to check out Lincoln Lawyer.

Cable dude's coming over tomorrow to swap out the boxes so I've got some cleaning up to do with my DVR. Few films that I'm gonna try to get watched today:

The Barefoot Contessa (already halfway through)
The Nun's Story
Rebel Without a Cause
The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes
The Three Faces of Eve

Lincoln Lawyer was pretty decent actually.  Reminded me a little bit of Fracture, just different stories obviously.  But I was mildly surprised, didn't expect much but the twists and turns kept me hanging around to see the payoff.  I'd say somewhere in the 7.5-8/10 range.

JPZ, you need to come thru with your Casino review.  Wanna know what you thought of that.

Once we get clear thru all the decade drafts, we should do our own personal top __ lists of all time.  Be it top 10 all time, 20, 50 if someone actually thinks they can do that with certainty.  Whatever number people want to try and list in terms of the best of all time, in their opinions.

Still need an owner for the 70's draft, otherwise it's getting shelved.  No hurry really, we can start any time this week and be fine, but we're at 9 right now.

I just love me so older movies that were actually made for displaying creativity than making money like 3/4 of the gunk today (pretty much the same reason why I prefer indie movies these days).

4 of those flicks are supposed to be pretty money, though (the piano tuner one looks like it's more of an art film). Dean, Hepburn, Bogie, can't go wrong with that.

I Am Number 4....what a dry #*%, stale #*%, generic forgettable made for TV garbage movie. I just watched it the other day, and halfway through I was convincing myself that Twilight had to be better than that. The first eps of Roswell and Smallville were better than that. I bet any episode of Buffy was better than that. Then randomly a this great cgi fight happens that has no right being in this movie.

Everyone in that cast could've not moved their lips the whole time and been dubbed over and you couldn't tell the difference. Fast Five stole from every movie the makers could remember and it was good. This stole Harry Potter, Roswell, Star Wars, Dark City and it's just eughk. That's not even a movie. From the music choices down to every shot, it feels like a focus group voted that nonsense into existence. The worst part was the credits. Seeing that DJ Caruso directed it...I liked Disturbia and Eagle Eye and he was supposed to adapt Y: The Last Man. Dude was working onto my list of favorite directors. I hope this was a nice paycheck and a name loan.

Cliffs: I didn't enjoy it.

I liked Lincoln Lawyer. It's weird though...with all the cop shows now on permanent rerun, this felt like a big budget episode of Law & Order or Damages than it did a movie.

i refused to watch that for so long, then one night I said F it and did...and it was amazing! I loved it
I watched over the weekend too.  I enjoyed it.  Maybe not loved it, but definitely liked it.  I generally find Michael Cera hilarious, so I had to give it a chance.  I think I liked Scott Pilgrim better than Youth in Revolt, but both were entertaining.

I haven't forgotten, but I am sort of stuck at the moment.  We have some ties as of now, mainly because a bunch of people never voted.  So I sent out some feelers today to try and get a couple more votes to break the ties.  So I'm tryin to get those, take maybe another day or so, if they don't come thru, then I'll just have to show who finished where, ties and all.

Hopefully, the voters will pull thru.

MrO, sooooooo you won't be on board with a sequel for I am Number 4?

Like I said, they had some mistakes, but I was interested in some angles they set up.  Kinda like the now 6, uniting and all that jazz.  And I coulda done without thee uh, rather large animals or whatever those things were.
You right though, anybody that ever seen any of the Buffy series, there was some EXCELLENT work done there.  The silent episode was one of my favorite tv shows of all time.  Was truly fantastic.

And speaking of TV shows..........Dexter, season 6 teaser trailer last night.
