Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Dont sleep on Predator 2.

Busey :pimp:

It's a crime Nick Nolte and Gary Busey weren't in more movies together. Only one that barely counts, 2 if you count Nolte's film debut

Joe Pesci was the best part of The Irishman. He plays a different role compared to his hothead characters in Goodfellas and Casino. Very measured and cunning mob boss. Man I missed seeing him act.

If anything Al Pacino has the Joe Pesci role in the movie. He chews scenery like nobody’s business. Even I was wanting him to get whacked by the end

Pesci was very good, I agreed. I really enjoyed Pacino and DeNiro as well.

I can't wait to see it again.

When We Were Kings*
Great sports doc about Ali.

But I will admit I'm not a big fan of regular sports movies anyway. Even less so if they try to be comedies. Especially for an all time list.

Caddyshack just ain't my kinda comedy.

Motherless Brooklyn 6.8/8

Really impressed by Norton's directorial debut and that he also wrote this script (based off a book and it took him 10 years but still). He loaded the cast with all of his great acting friends but I still gotta say this was a real well directed movie.

Story was good although the mystery was a bit predictable. The twist in the end caught me off guard and I liked how the story itself mirrored actual history and means a lot today when it comes to gentrification.

Dafoe, Guru, Adam, and Norton were all really good.

Terminator: Dark Fate 5/8

This was cool. The movie was even pretty good but what I'm about to say is a criticism of the franchise at this point and the movie isnt reflecting that.

Its over for this franchise. They can't do anything new with it to change things up. They never want to world build or explore the lore or any of the reasoning for why things happen. Killer robot from the future sent to kill somebody to prevent a resistance that is stopping this dominant A.I. takeover. The A.I manages to develop a means of time travel but can't stop some humans and a rogue terminator from wiping out their present.

Way too many homages to the first two best Terminator flicks. Nothing new happens at all.

Also I dont know why so many are mad about a certain character being dead. That character always been a ****ing lame.

Arnold was good in this. I'd much rather see a movie about him forming a conscience and family or him sending Sarah Connor missions to kill terminators.

Doctor Sleep 7.7/8

I really dug this. McGregor was the best choice to be grown up Dan Torrance. Played the drunk well and better cleaned up.

Loved the angle where basically the bad guys became the prey. The good guys were way more ****ing scary than any of the monsters.

This little girl creeped me the **** out. Honestly felt like she could've took them all on without Dan.

This was a great followup to The Shining focusing on the son.

Rebecca Ferguson is so damn fine

Harriet 5.8/8

This was good. Rough start but it hit its stride by the 2nd act. Something was lacking though. All the ingredients for a grrat movie were there but I dont lnow if it was the acting mixed with the pacing and score that didn't fully deliever.

Motherless Brooklyn 4.9/8 - Had a lot of potential. Really interesting story about Moses and Old New York. The execution wasn't there for me. All-star cast that's under used. Michael K. Williams, Bruce Willis, and Alec Baldwin hardly have any real believable impact. Gentrification during that time (even now) was 1000% more brutal than this portrayal.

Darjeeling Limited has gotten better for me on additional watches. Didn’t love it on the first viewing, but I now think it’s awesome.

Always loved Darjeeling although I haven’t seen it since the first time.

The Life Aquatic is the one Wes that I think I have to rewatch. Didn’t really hit with me

Really impressed by Norton's directorial debut

His directorial debut was Keeping the Faith (2000)

It went under the radar but it's actually a good film.
