Dressel or his coach (US head coach is his coach at Florida) probably screwed him out of that gold in the 100 fly.. he was 49.41 on his relay split.. and his flat/normal start is so good he’s one of the few people who don’t drop at least .5 on rolling starts

But US woulda had to be perfect from the other 3 guys.. Nic fink is the one who probably let them down a little, all things considered

US lost by .55

Murphy was 52.08 on the mixed medley (was 52.44 on the men’s medley and 52.39 in the 100 final)
Nic fink was 58.29 on the mixed medley (was 58.97 on the men’s medley and 59.05 flat start)

Hunter Armstrong was 46.75 on the men’s 4x100 free (was 47.19 on the men’s medley)

Easily 7 or 8.. he would for sure be on the mixed medley, men’s medley and 4 x 200.. and on the 4 x 200 he would give the US someone under 1:45, I think only the US anchor was under 1:45

And he has the 3rd fastest 100 free ever short course yards, so I think he’d at least get a time to make him eligible for the 4 x 100 free

But he’d be the go to 100 breastroker for the men’s side.. they got lucky with fink developing late (he’s 31 I think)
