Yep. At 9, I was spending coins at the arcade, on comic books, and on pogs. Parents would buy $50 video game cartridges like once a year. .
No name brand clothes and Air Jordans or other popular Nike styles.

I do remember walking in to a Sam Goody at the mall and buying Warren G's "Regulate" album on cassette tape for like $12 and then scurrying out before they realized they let me buy it lol, but theres no way my parents would take me to a concert

Remember buying an N.W.A tape when I was around 10 years old. Somehow my Wal-Mart had the explicit version instead of the clean one. Must have been a mix up somewhere, not that it mattered to me. I had no idea what most of those songs were really about at the time. It was probably a good thing I was never a kid who ran around singing the songs I'd been listening to though.

You know when I have a child I'm not going to be letting them listen to music with profanity before the age of like 14. Once they hit those teenage years it's not much you can do but I refuse to let my 9 year old listen to music meant for adults.

Go watch Disney channel, play outside and be a child.
