Nah get the 5.0 v8

Turbos gunna need maintenance

Naturally aspirated is the way to go brah.

Why would you want the 5.0. .. It has less hp, and much less torque... And worse mpg.. If you want a NA V8,the 6.2 is the way to go.. But even that isn't that much more powerful...

Well i thought they were gunna discontinue the 6.2 for non raptor models :nerd:

And arent the turbos in the ecobboost gunna need replacement after like 100k miles?

difference between premium gas and regular gas isn't really that much imo.

let's say there's a 30 cent difference between the 2 and you're filling up when your gas light comes on once a week (about 14 gallons). 14 x .30 = $4.20 x 52 weeks = $218.40 / 12 months = $18.20 a month.

not really as big a deal as people make it out to be.
not sure if serious............an depending on driving habits and car it can make a big diff in monthly budget

remember when i had my moms 2008 GS for the week doing just my usual...........spent an easy $100 for the week.
yea, dude didnt take into consideration if a car was a gas guzzler (as most cars that require premium do not have good let alone reasonable fuel economy)

if its all city or highway miles

and if the car is even running ideally for him to even start that type of calculation, the smallest thing can make your car less fuel efficient (like having low tread on your tires)

6.2 is still listed under available engines.. That doesn't mean anything though... So you may be right...

As for the Ecoboost, I believe this either be the third or fourth year it's offered... Every new engine/powertrain has problems the first couple of years it's offered... Look at first year God's transmissions..

Realistically, in 10 years, there probably won't even be a NA V8 offered in trucks.. In 15 years, the Mustang GT will probably be a Turbo 6 or even 4... The days of NA V8's are almost dead... They'll be combined with hybrid systems and whatnot, like the 918.. You may see them in 100K plus sport cars, but that's it...

Set on getting an EVO X this week but I'm so afflicted :nerd:

Black (GSR)
978944

or White (MR)?
978945

I'd prefer the GSR as it's a "real" manual but hear that the MR is more accommodating for daily driving. I would ask on an EVO forum but I'm trying to get an unbiased answer here, first.

Right on man, you will love it!

White is the obvious choice. Not only does it look better IMO, but maintaining a black paint job SUCKS!

Also, GSR is the right choice. The paddle shifters are nice if you drive in traffic a lot, but still not worth it and it's definitely looked down upon in the Evo "community". only way i'd ever get one is if it was for my girl.

Unrelated, a girl i was friends with in High School, who recently started doing Porn, just bought a white Evo X yesterday...

Name? :nerd:

But jokes aside, did she buy a GSR? No shots at STi owners, but I see there's a good number of females that own them and I don't see much girls in Evo's. That's a surprise, to me, at least.

Who cares what other people think about the car you drive... I would get it as a stick, if it were not my dd... Completely understand why someone doesn't want a stick every day...

What car forums think isn't really a concern anyway as I only lurk on their for parts/info and don't get into things like that. I've been driving stick non-stop for the past 12 years and never had a problem in sitting in traffic and NY/NJ highways are pretty horrible too

Her pron name is Emily Kae. (she isn't that great, but it's funny to see a friend in porn)

and she dated my buddy for like 3 years in High School.  i think i still have pictures from going to school dances in a group with her

I have had a stick as a DD since i was 16 with no issues. But i also don't live or work where i have to encounter bumper to bumper traffic everyday. If i did, i would totally buy the MR

Sounds like Jay also is comfortable with DDing a stick so i would definitely recommend the GSR to him

In that case, get the stick lol...

I was definitely leaning more towards the GSR because of that, I just read some feedback about the MR having a more "comfortable" daily ride and was curious about that as I know comfort is pretty subjective. Not to mention the GSR has the high wing, which I think it a must when it comes to EVO's

@ekin805 formally rza9 just bought a gsr, maybe he can chip in :nerd:

might be a dumb question, but are the clutches on evos and stis heavier compared to a honda? granted, stock honda clutches are extremely light but should i expect a huge difference in weight?

I don't see how driving habits, low tread, etc would come into play since they would be the same regardless of which gas you're getting. If you drive fast with premium gas, are you going to start driving slow once you put regular in? If you have low tire tread when you put in premium, does it become higher tread once you put in regular?

It was just an example. I realize regular gas doesn't necessarily get the same mpg as premium, but it gives you a rough idea. I fill up like every 3 days when I'm driving the c63 full time, but once about every 7 or 8 days when driving the Beemer.

Never driven an STI so idk, but evos yes. Clutch on my Evo is a lot heavier than the clutch on my s2000 was

The gears on the STI are very close together so you gotta get used to it. That being said it was pretty heavy in both mine. Im only speaking on 04-06 models though. Past that Im not sure.

Damn bros, i've been itching to get da Hemi but i'm still paying off my car (got like $11K left to pay). I will probably wait till i pay it off then sell/trade it.
