I hope you guys aren’t taking my not knowing these people extensively as me tryna talk down on them cuz I’m not.

But you’re not gonna sit up here and tell me nwa isn’t more known than geto boys. That’s just false information...Dre Dre and ice cube literally transcend MUSIC...I respect Scarface but he doesnt even transcend rap music

Hip hop is not the end all be all...there are plenty of people (not just white folks) that do not care for it by the way...

NWA is acknowledged a lot more in mainstream culture than Geto Boys so I do get what he saying

A lot of his takes overall seem to be from more of a younger mainstream cultural perspective in general for whatever reason lol

Within hip hop, yes Scarface is talked about as much as Ice Cube. Of course NWA was bigger, that ain't why we laughing, you being from houston and not knowing who the Geto Boys was is wild but again you always show how little you know about stuff that's not super mainstream. No point in going back and forth with somebody that just don't know what they're talking about.

It's not even about whether they was as mainstream as NWA. Geto Boys was popular, Mind Playin Tricks On Me the song and video was huge. If he was a white kid from Utah I would get it, but he from Houston. :lol:

Edit: on a serious tip tho you can tell he prolly never grieved properly with his mama death from cancer, like out of nowhere he just started talking about it a lot and has been constantly for the past year while simultaneously getting more drugged out

People are getting on you because you are talking about rap in a rap thread and it's hard to take anyone's opinion on the topic seriously when they're uneducated to the extent you are on it, especially being from Houston, I have no clue how you've never heard of them. How old are you?

Also...Boosie fest was crazy recently. Very few rappers in his niche can still do stadiums/large venues like this built straight off the chitterlings circuit.

Scarface transcended music in the SOUTH. And you’re from the SOUTH. Bushwick Bill was a regular on many sitcoms. It’s the fact that you’re from HOUSTON bro. That’s like me being from south Florida and not acknowledging Trick Daddy or Plies....

Other than 2live crew, Geto boys/Scarface were the first big time, mainstream southern hip hop artists...

If anything shame on Houston media for not honoring those guys more..feel like I’ve never heard his name mentioned on 97.9 (could be my memory)
