^ Maybe I'm biased, but I preferred the HK version more...

Ocean's Eleven.

I enjoyed the Italian Job, but never saw the original.

I'm not even going to lie, even when Scorsese was announced as the director I was still skeptical. I think I even wrote a diatribe on the thread that discussed it here a couple years ago. I loved Infernal Affairs and really thought Hollywood would butcher it.
In retrospect, I actually liked the American remake more. When I went back to Infernal Affairs again, it just wasn't the same.

these are the only movies which should be remade:

1) take old special effects movies (see 'clash of the titans' or 'jason and the argonauts'.. although 'clash' wasn't done well)

2) a movie which was/had a good idea/premise but was executed poorly or not well

3) a foreign film (like the departed)

4) fresh take on a VERY old story (like the leo version of 'romeo + juliet')

if something is done right the first time, there is no need for a second time

The Johnny Depp Wonka was TERRIBLE IMO. Couldn't even finish the movie.

Can't wait to see a Ghostbusters movie with modern effects

Heck no! The orginal was way better and Gene Wilder was better then Johnny Depp.

I liked the new Casino Royale over the old one. And on a side note, I just read that they are going to remake Total Recall. Wow.

Disagree with this. Let The Right One In is one of my favorite films. Let Me In was good, though.
