Republican Party is on the way out!

Anyone else think the republican party will eventually die out? It seems to me that the Republicans are steadily losing all rational supporters thanks toGlenn Beck and Sean Hannity. It is really frightening to think that there are a lot of people in the Republican party who only listen to Beck and actuallybelieve the crazy things he says. All these threads about the teaparties and the healthcare protest just seem to seperate the country down lines of rationaldebate and insanity. On top of all that, Micheal Steele is an idiot, Rush Limbaugh is considered a leader, Fox is steadily alienating minorities (along withthe rest of the Republican party), Texas was talking about seceding, and a significant amount of people would support Sarah Palin if she ran for president. Ithink the Republicans are becoming more and more fringe. I see the Democrats splitting into progressives and moderate Democrats. Anyone agree with me?

Die? I think a more accurate term is split.

If any party is splitting in the next 50 years it will be the Republican party. I see the Republican party being the party to do so and not the Democrats.
That's a big IF. All the Republican party is lacking is sound leadership and consequently national cohesion.

no because all those middle america states eat up whatever silly stuff they spew out every 4 years which is why you see a bunch of middle of nowhere statesbeing won by republicans almost every election.

The Republican party will never die out, because that would mean the miracle of a country without ignorance.

WRONG.

If anything, the dems will probably split... dependent upon the shift in the nation's progressive movement.

The Republican party got 45.6% of the vote in the 2008 Presidential election after an extremely unpopular Republican president (at the time of his departure)left office. Bush left office with a 34% approval and 61% disapproval rating, and yet McCain/Palin got 45.6% of the vote.

45.6%.

They're not going anywhere.

Yes, half of congress is going to throw in the white towel like Obama with the health care reform which was influence by non other than, republicans.

I agree with this. If I had to pick a party that would split, it would be the Democrats.

Their consistent inability to get their +@#% together as a party even with all the power in Washington is astounding.

Blue Dogs v. Progressives is a much bigger split than anything in the Republican Party right now.

Republicans will never die as long as there is "old" money that doesn't like change or growth in society

but yes, lots of younger republicans are becoming more socially moderate yet staying fiscally conservative.

They tried it with Palin cause she was a woman. I'm glad most of the nation didn't buy into it.

Eh, I'd call myself a republican before I call myself a democrat, but I think I'm registered independent (not that I voted in this past election).

I'd like to see the republican party replaced by the libertarian party. I don't think what this country needs is either a republican nor a democrat, but rather something that is going to drastically alter our current government into something much more fiscally responsible.

political parties have changed drastically with the times, that said the republican party is far from being in shambles.

the democrats were in complete disarray in 2004 and they made it out

This.

If they keep trying to purify themselves as the talk show hosts would like I think while they may have short-term victories, in the long-run they will be muchworse off, gradually becoming more and more irrelevant. However, if they do decide to moderate on social issues while being the party of fiscal responsibility,free-market capitalism, and strong on national defense then I think it will be the democrats who have much more to worry about. This is why Democrats love whenthe Republicans try to battle for who can be the most conservative and most outlandish. Once they're done appeasing the base, they become prettyunattractive to the middle. Unfortunately in such a political climate the Democrats themselves cannot capitalize because they haven't yet realized thatAmericans just don't like their big spending plans, no matter how noble they may be.

Lotta stupid statements in here.

Democrats and Republicans are both the same, its about time you guys realize this.
