How about if you guys want change actually learn civics and get more involved in government. How many of you guys write your congressman or senator? Participate in public forums? Vote in local elections? Change starts with the people, if we are the same lazy, emotional, ignorant public we don't deserve better than we have now. Plain and simple
lol
Good luck.

When the system becomes rigged and corrupt to this extent nothing short of political revolution (which many a times involved blood) will change it.

I guarantee you nothing will change in this country until things get violent. Nothing. At a certain point force is the only tool the oppressed have.
This country will be different sooner than you think...our changing demographics coupled with our fall and China's rise will def. put this country in a different place.

Different in what way?
This country's different than it was 20 years ago. Way different.

It's not going to get better until things turn violent. I'd put money on that easy. It's as close to a sure bet about the direction of this country as oine could make.

Your premise is spot on.

I guess you could actually just put those two groups together though.

PS. I'm pretty sure Bernie Sanders is the most Liberal member of Congress.
You still don't know much about real world politics. We all don't.
All that we know is that it's pretty !%%!%* up and too corrupt in its present state.

I wasn't trying to say I knew everything, however I'm pretty sure the both of us, using your posting history as evidence, know a great deal more than the average American and a number of people in this thread.

What is "Real World Politics"? A Democratic Socialist utopia?

No, it's a completely free market economy where an "invisible hand" and the benevolence of business owners regulate the markets for the benefit of everyone!
You weren't fast enough with that edit.

Answer the question.

It's a place where Libertarianism doesn't have a leg to stand on. Privatization of everything is simply ridiculous. Things are not run more efficiently when they are private, they are cut because suddenly they are being run for profit. This generally leads to middle to lower income families and people being hurt by privatization while wealth concentrates at the top.
So no, it isn't a Democratic Socialist utopia. It is, however, a place where basic needs of the people are fulfilled by the government.

Proof?

And don't give me examples where producers are subsidized. Don't give me examples where the multinational companies conspire with government in order to decide what good are allowed to cross borders. Don't give me an examples where multinational corporations are given "investment guarantees" under the guise of "aid" to foreign interests. Don't give me examples of where governments manipulate trade on behalf of politically connected interest groups.

Now, with that being said, give me an actual example in where the Free Market was outperformed by the government.

The fact that every other industrialized nation in the world has some sort of national health care system, and by no coincidence, ranks higher than us in terms health care.
Also, we're spending MORE on health care than these nations, and we're getting LESS care. If we don't want a single payer system because it would cost to much, then please explain this to me.
U.S. scores dead last again in healthcare study
Also, the recent financial crisis was caused by deregulation of banks, allowing them to become "too big to fail."
