I have been a loyal Jordan Brand/Nike customer/collector for nearly a decade and demand a change in quality control. I used to hit nearly every release upuntil the Air Jordan fire red IV's released. When I first held those all I could ask myself..."Did I really just buy these?" At that release itdawned on me that Jordan Brand had really taken another direction in quality. Those were the good ol' days. Today you will find what seems to be likehundreds of sneaker releases a year. Most in colorways like "green bean" and carpet-like material glued onto Swooshes, and not to mention the AirJordan V completely wrapped in 3M. I own Air Max 90's made of finer quality leather than the recently release Air Jordan I's included in the DMP. Theonly aspect resembling the orignal I's is the Swoosh. The whole shape of the shoe is off (don't tell me that JB destroyed the molds from '01), thepaper thin leather bends like plastic and has a strong smell of chemicals. You take one step in this shoe and the whole toe bends into your foot where itshould just crease. High quality leather is much softer which will crease much easier. This I believe might be the reason why JB refuses to make their shoeswith anywhere near decent leather these days. It appears that some people would rather have the entire shoe bend than actually crease the leather. However, theinsole did appear to be of acceptable quality, thank you JB for that. Some people may be infuriated with this post. "Quit buying Jordans if you don'tlike the quality." Well this is for you. I would rather see a thousand of these posts than one more "Official Fusion/Crap Post...who'scopping?" With a problem there is always a solution. Petitions, letters, anything. If there is already a major petition underway please let me know.
