That's when I do catch the metro, you will never find me near the edge. Crazy thoughts like that always cross my mind, crazy *** people out there.

yo real talk, idk how many of yall live in NYC,

but growing up here has made me always aware of my surroundings. i KNOW when someones trying to scheme. I KNOW when im being followed.

some people are so oblivious on the subway, its mind boggling.

RIP tho. watch your back, be safe NTers.

NYC is getting crazier by the minute.
NYC being crazy was actually da norm., this new found serenity spell da city is under is recent.

i remember people used to surf train cars and die falling off em back in da day.

off topic but do people try to kill themselves themselves by jumping on the tracks in NYC?

in DC, there have been a bunch of attempts in the last year. then again the dc metro only gets like a 1/6th of NY subways so you hear about it and it causing major delays.

it happens more then the public knows. I have a friend who's a train conductor. he said at least once or twice a week someone attempts to kill themselves. with over a 1 billion passengers riding the train yearly. that number doesn't surprise me

Surfin train cars? Dammmm

I remember this story very clearly. Couple of years ago a teenager was with some friends and a girl and I believe this was on the Q train, I guess he wanted to impress his friends and the girl that he got on top of the train to "surf" it and his head hit a beam and caused him to fall. I remember the mother going on TV and actually blaming the friends why didn't they stop him. I'm sure someone will post the story.

As far as the op story goes I never understand why even go near the edge, I always stay far back, It's not like the train will come any faster by you being on the edge and looking for it. The train will come when it comes.

I think a couple months ago a young dude got his head banged off subway surfing .

But it was much more prevalent back in the day.

A lot of people still commit suicide by jumping in front of the trains .

Subway Surfing.

I'm not surprised on how many people attempt suicide though.

Too many mentally ill walking the streets and subways of NYC. Always have to pay attention on a subway platform because of them. People need to step back from the yellow line until the train pulls into the station. Also, is it that hard for trains to pull into a station slowly?

I stand near the edge all the time (it's a habit)

However when I know the train is coming (which most do cause you can see the lights) I back up a little. especially when a lot of people are on the platform and in Manhattan that's a lot of people.

Whoa, it's not the city it's the people (and for the most part a majority just mind their own business and keep to their own little bubble).

Besides I'm pretty sure somebody can say the same thing about miami who's been to little haiti, little havana and dade country to name a few areas.

I wouldn't say all of miami is crap though, but hey that's your opinion.

You can have your rats, graffiti and thugs.

I'll be here in Miami sipping on a pina colada with a fine latin chick on the beach. :Nthat

I seen this on the news last night. This is the 2nd death this month of someone getting pushed onto the train tracks.

I've always been aware of my surroundings in NYC espically at train stations as my neighbor's pops got killed by being pushed a few years back. :{

In a statement released by the district attorney’s office, Mr. Brown quoted Ms. Menendez, “in sum and substance,” as having told the police: “I pushed a Muslim off the train tracks because I hate Hindus and Muslims ever since 2001 when they put down the twin towers I’ve been beating them up.” Ms. Menendez conflated the Muslim and Hindu faiths in her comments to the police and in her target for attack, officials said.
