sprained ankles

a few questions about sprained/rolled ankles. It seems like I roll an ankle about 50 percent of the time I play basketball anymore, sometimes more serious thanothers. Does anyone know of exercises i can do to strengthen my ankles and prevent this problem? Also, can anyone give advice on the best shoes and anklebraces to wear for sprain prevention?
 
Stretch your ankles before you play. Wear a compression ankle brace EVERYTIME you play and lace your shoes as comfortably tight as you can. As for shoes, thehigher the better!

That's not true. The height of a shoe has nothing to do with spraining your ankle.
 
yeah i sprain them worse in higher shoes sometimes to be honest. i feel like the size of the sole has more to do with it. if the sole is really big andunstable it seems youre more prone to rolling youre ankle.
