About FAME:
Last year, The Filipino Student Association decided to throw a concert in the Billiken Clubshowcasing budding mainstream musicians of Filipino-American descent on SLU's campus. The result was this event now known as FAME. This year, FSA haschosen February 2nd for the date of the event and is asking you to help co-sponsor the event along with FSA.
Purpose of FAME:
[color= rgb(255, 0, 255)]The event itself will have multiple purposes. First and foremost, the event's goal is to give theartists exposure to their Midwest audience. Artists such as Passion, Jay and Gabe Bondoc have a fan base in cities such as Houston, St. Louis and Chicago, yettheir fans will never be able to see them unless they travel to the coasts to see them. Secondly, it is to bring the Midwest Filipino Student Organizationstogether. After attending a conference in October, I was inspired to create a social event that would bring various schools together to interact and socialize.Third, it would show the SLU campus that FSA can do so much more than either pot lucks or throw an annual cultural show each year.[/color]
