The Oakland Athletics 2018 Offseason Season Thread | One and Done Again

I'm still living out in Sac so I haven't been able to make it out to weeknight games, but I am 10-1 in the games I've been too. :pimp:

You come from Sac all the time? Thats nuts. If I didn't work two bart stops away, I probably wouldn't have gone to half the games that I have already.

My parents still live in the East Bay so I usually just come home for the weekend and go to all 3 games.

Man that Weeks jersey was a good buy at the time, everyone thought that kid was a future star

What do you guys think it would take to land a guy like Zobrist? He is a FA after 2015 and would be a HUGE upgrade.

a bag of dirt would be an upgrade
hell, sadly brandon fn hicks might even qualify as an upgrade

but the pieces that are avail gotta be for st pitching...
sonny and kaz are nice

chav already at a career high in ip, so i dont think u can really expect much
mill/stray = meh at best
dp gonna break another hand

staff gonna be fun to watch next yr tho...

and tangent
nice to see bartolo get a knock and run the bases yesterday

I know we don't have much leverage with our farm but Billy NEEDS to find a way to upgrade at 2nd and probably a solid starter. The issue is, I don't think a 4th starter is really going to help this team. We would need more of a front line guy and we don't have the pieces to make that happen (Russell better not be going anywhere).

Price (I think he is overrated but I would still take him) and Zobrist to Oakland would be a nice dream....Yes I know it ain't happening.

screw it

tyler ladendorf, come on up

always wanted to see what that o carbrera trade brought us

I know this isn't a video game and you can't just move guys around, but I would seriously consider seeing how Vogt can take ground balls at 2nd.

That's how desperate I am to see some production there. :smh:

Best record in baseball with an absurd run differential, and we're still nitpicking.

That's why people think hardcore fans are crazy.

We know what it will take to win in the playoffs.

I'm going to quit on sports if we end up with the best record and lose in the first again. :smh:

ya couldnt quit on a squad that lost its 1&4 before the season started and will have basically 10M for a new fa signing...

that and we saved some $ with the draft this yr...

i mean next yrs squad is gonna be that much better....

They just showed a clip of Peavy throwing a 3 hitter against us in early 2012, and damn was that team bad. I forgot about Kila Kahaahuel'eue completely. There was some guy named Luke Hughes (?) starting at 3rd. The only offensive guys left from that roster are Cespedes, Crisp, and Reddick.

That's the 2012 40-man roster. I count 8 guys left on our active 25 man roster? Thats crazy considering how good the team has been since the all star break of 2012. Sadly, I expect the same kind of turnaround by the start of the 2016 season.
