THE OFFICIAL 2024 - 2025 DALLAS COWBOYS SEASON THREAD || MEH

Doug Free is close to a contract signing, thought we could have upgraded the RT Position through the draft, but guess it'll have the wait. Not a dominat tackle, but the rest of the line increases his play. Zach Martin will put on some muscle, & get in better condition to be even better help to Free.

Fast foward to the 9 minute mark until the 13th minute.
Also, on the Sean Lee case... I listened to a interview he did in December while on the Fan radio station, at the Gaylord hotel?
As far as his position change, & how his injury was due to only having 20% of his ligaments intact. He said it was a matter of time before it tore, so he'll be as good as new + if he takes on less blocks at SAM backer maybe he can stay healthy. At least his contract is mainly based on him playing/incentives.

It's gonna be interesting to see if Sean Lee can stay healthy and help this defense.

Whole line staying in tact :hat

Ron Leary - one year tender $585,000
Darrion Weems - one year tender $585,000
Dekoda Watson - re-negotiated from $1,200,000 to $745,000
Camron Watson - one year tender

Dez Bryant - Franchise Tag $12.8 mil
Cole Beasley - 4 year / $14-15mil ($7mil guaranteed)
Keith Rivers - one year deal
Doug Free - 3 year / $15mil ($6mil guaranteed)

Still Left (Bold, who have a really good chance at coming back) :
DeMarco Murray
Rolando McClain
Jermey Parnell - He's gone
Justin Durant - Supposedly close to a deal
Bruce Carter - He's definitely gone.
Anthony Spencer
Nick Hayden

George Selvie
Henry Melton
Dwyane Harris
C.J. Spillman
Tyler Clutts

James Anderson
Tony Hills
Lance Dunbar
Chris Jones
Sterling Moore

I honestly hope we can find something for DeMarco. We're right there. Keep the Offense together, and just push hard on pass rush.

Wouldnt he take on less blocks at the WILL as opposed to the SAM?

Passrush/DL, Passrush/DL, Passrush/DL this offseason. We do that and the rest of the defense will take care of itself. But we have to sure up the corner position. Its looking weak and we can only rely on Scandrick.

OH YEA! I told yall in the offseason, continuity with the head coach. We needed it for a change, and look at the potential this team now has. :D

To me, the secondary goes from average to good with just a semblance of a pass rush. I think we are fine at corner so long as Carr takes a paycut.

Murray looking like he will stay in Dallas. I know many fans will be upset but continuity and chemistry are huge. As long as it's not more than 6-7 mill I'm content with it.

While that might be true as the Weakside backer for some reason, I feel like we interchange them so fluidly that he would play a both sides depending on the package the offense is in. Strongside backer is more of the man-man coverage, which Lee does well 'cause of his speed & awareness. He has some of the best hands. I just put him at SAM for that reason, because we all know this is a passing league.

Ingram agreed to a 4 year/$16 Mil deal with the Saints.
Murray & Ingram were maybe 2/3 best backs available. Murray was offered that same contract before the season started, granted he had the better season the Cowboys win because they'll have that contract to show to Murray's agent. I say 5 years/$20 mil with $11 million guaranteed.

We just restructured Tyron to the league minimum creating another 8 mill in cap space.

My guess is this was created to either bring in Greg Hardy or to sign Murray.

And now that talks have surfaced with arizona and Minnesota for AP, I'm even more content at keeping Murray now.

That move was made to sign Murray I bet, we'll see.
If the Suh news was true, then Murray staying with the Cowboys should be true.

this is some what true, but outside of sandrick(and never thought I would say this) you cant tell me you trust most of the guys  back there covering people. we must upgrade the DB position. and elite pass rush covers them up but if you don't have that then the avg DB's we have going to get roasted again.

Parnell got that much money WTF

Yea I agree..I'll use philly as an example of strong front 7, and weak secondary..secondary was still exposed down the stretch..

It's the nfl man, teams are gonna find your weakness and exploit it...

Sterling Moore wasn't tendered.. He's now a UFA... Which makes him unlikely to return.

I wouldn't say that, he's been cut by dal twice and returned both times

Good for parnell

Lee will play the weak side Sam's almost don't even exist anymore with all the three receiver sets mostly only in the game on first down or obvious running situations

Was hoping for alliwalu* sp but he's going back to Jax

If all of the ends are gone at 27 I'd like a strong 1 tech, young cb or a trade back if possible

You gotta source on Tyron? ...can't find anything online that says he restructured his contract.

I haven't seen anything, but it will definitely happen. Easy to do, and opens up $8mil.

LeSean technically got $8mil AAV. Although they went big with $16mil first year, to make years 2-5 only $6mil AAV. Just to reduce risk.

I'm thinking that makes the ceiling of Murray ($8mil AAV, 4 years). His market seems thin so far. But I'm sure someone will make a bid of 4 year / $28mil. If we offer 4 year / $24mil but guarantee an extra $2mil, we can keep him.

You must have forgot about this: WR Laurent Robinson signed a five-year, $32.5 million contract in which 14 million was guaranteed. Remember he had
career highs with 54 receptions for 858 receiving yards and a team leading 11 touchdowns in 2011.

I remember reading, that Dallas usually has a clause that allows them to restructure contracts if and when the team needs it. I'll try and find the article.
D-Ware, Romo, Witten, Austin, & Tyron all have had it.

The Cowboys triggered a built-in restructure within Smith’s contract that converted $10.2 million of his fully guaranteed $11.039 million base salary in 2015 into signing bonus money.

That pushes the Cowboys’ salary cap space to a little more than $11 million available if the club wants to add players when the NFL’s free agency period officially opens at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Cowboys among teams interested in CB Davon House of the Packers....

Sterling Moore looks like he is on the way out

Quiet Demarco market right now... show the man the money

Also interested in Stephen Paea, but looks as if he is headed to the Skins
