The Official NBA Collective Bargaining Thread vol Phased in Hard Cap

I'd be shocked if they get something done. And look at the big stars showing up when the season is in jeopardy. What a joke. They should have been there from the beginning, they're only there now because of their image. I hope the owners don't give in. These players are too arrogant and cocky. The NBA ain't even basketball no more, it has evolved into something else.

Meeting just let out.. players going first with their own press conference, not a good sign if they're not together.

I said after this past year ended and I still just can't believe people can be this dumb. You have your best product in over a decade and now you want to throw it all away.

I do NOT blame the players at all, they seem willing to compromise. Owners are not.

potentially Taking one of the final years away from guys like: Kobe, Dirk, Pierce, Nash etc and a prime year from LeBron, Dwight, Rose, Melo, Kd, etc is shameful.

Only hardcore fans will return if this thing goes anywhere into February or beyond and I don't blame anyone who (again) has no interest in the NBA.

47 is an insult.

If i wasn't an obsessed new yorker I wouldn't ever the NBA again. I despise this league so much. From the superstar calls to the comish to the owners to the whiny out of shape players

@Chris_Broussard David Stern just cancelled last 2 weeks of preseason and said on Monday he will "have no choice" but to cancel first 2 weeks of reg season

Stern and the owners just offered a 50/50 deal and the players rejected it. Eff them all.
Preseason has officially been cancelled and if no agreement is met Monday, first two weeks of regular season will follow.
Got this from sportscenter.

I read that that 50 50 dint include 300 million off the top. AND that it was discussed privately and never even made it to the table

David stern is not a man you blindly believe what he is saying. He is in full public relations mode

I'm not in the camp of "Stern is the devil" like some.. but let's remember both sides will present facts in the best way for their cause. So if Stern says the players rejected 50/50 that's going to cause shock by the public at the "greedy players"

FWIW: 50-50 BRI split sounds fair because splitting anything 50-50 sounds fair. In this case, it's 50-50 of what owners deem to share.

http://twitter.com/#!/RicBucher
http://twitter.com/#!/RicBucher

Example: Let's split a pizza. I'll split four slices with you, 50-50. The other 12 slices? Not pizza. Bruschetta. I keep the bruschetta.

And to be fair, Hunter/Fisher and the players will also spin the truth to make them look the best, so it's not just Stern that's potentially guilty. But it seems as if the 50/50 split wasn't a formal offer by the owners during the meetings.
