The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA Cup Begins | Embiid Debut | Klay Return

Exactly. In a previous CBA the Celtics would just be incentivized to overpay because he’s valuable to them tbh
They were absolutely going to give him a good contract under previous CBA. Zero reason not to. Under new one though you just can’t afford to give your 6th/7th guy that kind of money.

So then, if you’re that kind of role player, you basically have to just pray the money the few under-cap teams have doesn’t dry up before they get to you.

One “take” I have is IDK why B Sox B Sox thinks it is ridiculous that folks are questioning the idea of paying Jaylen Brown $59MM annually especially with this new CBA kicking in that will be limiting 🤷‍♂️ If you are Boston you have to at least see what else you could get for him. A deal may not be worth it but you absolutely have to check the temperature of the marketplace.
Because he works for the Celtics

I think the requirement to spend 90% of the salary cap will help with that

bob myers running from the grind

signed poole to that massive contract and fumbled all those picks. steps away from having to deal with the mess that is klay and draymond's contracts lol
