The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA Draft

Sabonis gets the worst whistle. mf gets elbowed in the face once per game, never even gets a foul call, let alone a flagrant review like most people get. then he gets the softest calls on him ever

At full health and assuming you had a Kawhi that looks like himself, it's gotta be easily a top 2 team in the West. But yea, who knows if that happens

Kawhi is nowhere near playoff shape right now. Nowhere near. First quarter of the season is already gone too :smh:

He needs several months of uninterrupted play just to find his legs & his lungs. Giant question mark.

“clippers coming out of the west” they said

elton brand gonna have to suit up

I agree with all of this. As I have stated before, the players health, both physical and mental, is #1 but that makes it really hard to gauge the Clippers ceiling this season. Kawhi just had a season off and is still limited after an injury like what…15, 18 months ago? Paul George has been much more available save these last four games but what is his prognosis going forward? They got Sixers’ Process Era injury reporting vibes going over there

At this point you kind of have to expect you're not going to see a 100% Kawhi this season, right?

Healthy AD now still isn’t the AD of Pelicans days. That man was different. He was agile and a freak. This one can still put up the stats when healthy but let’s not act like it’s the same he looks old in his hips and the speed of his movements.

Spurs been getting cooked

Definitely loss some pop since New Orleans with the lower leg injuries and added muscle, but at least he's got a stronger upper body to finish through contact now.

clippers just gotta get a decent enough seed. keep resting kawaii and they got a chance in the playoffs.

Keep resting Kawhi and get a decent enough seed isn’t really the answer IMO. It’s not like he’s been running with these dudes for a long time and he can seamlessly reinsert himself into the lineup and everyone can quickly adjust to their new role. As ill steelo ill steelo eloquently pointed out, this team will still need time to gel if/when all their key guys are healthy.

he did it with the raptors so why can't he do it with the clippers

The devil is the details. That is not true. He played 60 games (meaning he missed 22) that season at 34 MPG and he never missed more than 4 in a row. To start this season he has only played 5 games (meaning he has missed 19) at 22 MPG with a 12 consecutive game absence in there.

This is not equivalent to the Toronto situation by any means.
