Kawhi is more of a coattail rider that Kyle.
he is a malcontent who is unreliable, never healthy, and provides zero leadership.
he needs an extremely strong existing leadership structure, and someone to pick him up when he inevitably comes up gimpy.
he got that with spurs, and with the raptors. outside of that his teams have always fallen apart.
luckily he was able to ride Kyles coattails to a second championship, without his career would be looked at as a gigantic disappointment.

Kyle Lowry and Kawhi were pretty close in terms of on court impact stats in 2019. Yes Kawhi is a better player, but the margin is just way way smaller than people realize.
it's just not the case that Kawhi carried a bunch of bums to a ring. Kyle was a pretty close number 2, and played way more for the raptors.
