Not to thread derail, but most Canadians I know (mostly Montreal/Toronto folks) always complain about universal healthcare.
Apparently, the negatives far outweigh the benefits.

If you need an appt with a specialist (ex: cardiologist, gyno, etc) it takes sometimes over a month for an appt. Even sometimes for basic overall check ups with your primary.
Which can be the case here too, but the supply here is much higher.

Just passing the message. Universal healthcare in theory is great, but I literally know about 50 Canadians and they all complain about it. Lived by the border for a couple years.

I'm literally a health care professional, not everything is peaches and rainbows about universal healthcare. It has its flaws.

Anecdotal evidence only tells us a little
Of course there are frustrations.
Taiwan might have the best system in the world, and there are shortcomings.
Still better than the system in America. Which is overly expensive, excludes too many, and produce poor outcomings given the price.
But ****ting on something that would be a net positive for a ton of people in this country, especially poor black people, seems like something worth pushing back on

People by nature like to complain. I’ve also heard so of my wife’s Danish relatives complain about aspects of the socialized health care system they have in Denmark.
BUT Americans are constantly complaining about our health system too (and rightfully so).
So complaints from individuals isn’t a good way to judge how effective a system is.

Every system has flaws. Nothing is perfect. So people will always complain and try to find better solutions.
But still give me their healthcare system, we can make it work.
I rather know I can go to the ER without having a $10k bill dropped on my head for something I have no control over.

A lot of people weird hate Book, but Suns fans will always like dude because the Suns were absolute dog **** for years and he hung in there.
He far exceeded expectations and had to put up with numerous coaching changes, tons of new teammates constantly, a cheap owner that Penny pinched everywhere, and years of losing
Booker wasn't even the player he is now and people were still saying he is good enough to demand out.
And he didn't
But this years doesn't work out and mans wants to do to the Knicks of all places? I find that really hard to believe.

Book's new supermax is kicking in. He has no leverage to ask out and I think he will be patient to give it another year, maybe two before exploring an exit plan.

I was just in Vancouver for work last week and I asked this very question and this is what I got.
1. Quality of their healthcare is a huge complaint. I told them that even with insurance our US system might provide better quality (I disagreed with them) but any major health issues (Cancer) will put you in the poor house.

People that complain the most about Canadian Universal Health Care in Canada are speaking almost always about the long wait times, which are true. However, these wait times are prioritized by need. That is not to say that there are exceptions and the ball is dropped. Speaking provincially, Alberta Health Service is plagued by middle management bloat and a major shortage in health care professionals. If you are rolling into walk-in with a sore knee or a sniffle, yes you are going to wait for a while. But again, there are ways to alleviate the wait (booking times, checking multiple walk-in locations, utilizing your family doctor walk-in, ect). But its easier to just complain.
Having a brother who fought lymphoma, a father who had severe heart issues, and diabetic family members, their care has been excellent and importantly, with little to no cost to them. Support for family members in care-giver roles is also getting increasingly better. Is there better care in the US? Almost certainly, but to say Canadian care isnt good to great is a bit misleading (again there are always exceptions).
Ontario and Quebec have different experiences certainly, but not unlike how Americans in California, New York, and Texas all have different experiences with the same issues.
