Hey y'all brand new face in here. Got my first DSLR camera this week (Nikon D3300). Looking forward to the feedback and advice I'll get from you all.

Not really sure what I was trying to do with the last one

Interesting. The Galaxy S6 has some manual settings for the camera. Might be my next phone.

I haven't brought out my camera in a while. Consistency has got to be the hardest part of being an aspiring artist... What do you guys do to stay motivated to create on a consistent basis?
Doing a project 365 right now which definitely keeps you thinking and seeing things differently. I've seen people do week long projects too picking 52 themes for a year. I like following other photographers on Instagram too to get new ideas and pick up on other styles.

@bjamez20  I'm a fan of the 365 day challenges as well but can find it hard to stay motivated.  Co-sign following other photographers on the social medias for ideas.

I bought a Canonet 28 rangefinder from a dealer on Etsy and just had my first roll developed.  Super fun to use although this one is more "automatic" than other models that were introduced back then.  Some pics below and more here  on my site.  Peace

Some photos over the weekend.

And I just watched this youtube clip below. Never heard of the guy but I guess I just wanted to experience a photography lecture. This dude is super sick. Makes me feel like I don't do enough shooting or put effort into it. All his stuff is composite and he just stacks them into one beautiful image. Also makes me want to travel some more. He went to Iceland and destroyed it. Definitely a good vid if you got time:

some of those b&h lectures are pretty dope, and they are pretty varied too; that it exists as a free resource on the youtubes is such a good thing!

took a few of this tree trying to find a good composition:

Rad shot man.

And yeah....love the lecture. I was just saying how I wanted to sit in on a photography class and this seriously fills that void. I know I have been saying I never shoot RAW files but I think I need to start doing it. It's kind of been one of my big photography oddities that I have that I don't get why I never do but I think I am going to bite the bullet and get a new external hard drive and start shooting nothing but RAW files.

Also to anyone that brackets shots or does composites like the guy above, how do you change the exposures when getting a bunch of different shots? Is it all just with the bracketing option or is there a way to control it without touching your camera?

Speaking of what inspires/motivates you guys to shoot, what are the top Instagram accounts that inspire you the most?
Could always use some new people to follow.

Langly Bags is a nice IG to follow. They just take other people's photos and post them but most of them are nice: https://instagram.com/langly/

I am going to plug an NTer also. Don't know him personally but if you look at his account, he really has progressed like a mofo. A lot of his shots (as well as mine) are very common SF/Bay Area spots but he does a better job at it than I do:

I've noticed that majority of the non-iphone photos are in square format.

Question: Do you guys prefer the high-res images in that format or do you actually like seeing the picture in its entirety (16:9, wide) ?
