The Running Thread: Shoe reviews and tips

I wanted to make a thread so people could discuss running and share tips on what they do. I've been a long time casual runner and recently trying to find new shoes I was overwhelmed by the amount of info you have to go through just to find something for yourself. I wanted to get out of running in Nikes (Lunarlons) and get a more serious shoe, I eventually went with the Kayano 23s. I thought this would be a good place to see what others think are the best shoes to run in and what they think of new releases/tech.

This thread doesn't have to be all about shoes so feel free to discuss anything else about running.
