The Timepiece Thread vol: READ THE 1st POST!!!

I don't know if I want to do another seiko or the full metal casio (which I've been debating about for a year). They are a similar price but the main issue i have with the seiko is see through case back surround which has no pvd coating whereas the casio completely black.

Big fan as well.

I actually wanted to pick one up for my birthday.

Too bad I made the mistake of wearing my DD40 when I went to the AD.

At risk of sounding like a douche, it's *REALLY* hard to go from full precious metal back to stainless (especially jubilee which feels a fair bit lighter and flimsier than oyster).

Still a beautiful watch though.

(not my pic)
This is the perfect configuration for a date just. It's either this or the the black bay 58 on a strapcode oyster for my medium term goal.

Hate the damn bezel

never saw it in person but gotta be fluted. I’m starting to love datejusts now
domed bezy on an oyster bracelet always looked a bit low key in comparison to the non mistakable fluted w/ jubilee but both are nice IMO. the non fluted bezel looks different on the larger Datejust but 36mm is perfect size & price for me since they can be had relatively inexpensively. my favorite Rolex is a Pearlmaster/Masterpiece but man they're expensive in 39mm, it may have the be my 50 year old man watch if I make it that far.

Breitling modernizes the watch industry with its trade-in program

Adapting a longstanding practice in the automotive and consumer electronics industries, Breitling modernizes the luxury watch industry by becoming the first Swiss manufacturer to offer a trade-in on all luxury watch brands to purchase a new Breitling online at Breitling.com.

Breitling provides trade offers on all luxury watch brands towards the online purchase of a new Breitling in the United States. The free estimate services are powered by pre-owned luxury retail specialist Crown & Caliber.

The trade-in process promises to be an easy, online transaction with 20% premium provided over market price. Additional incentives are offered to watch owners wishing to trade a pre-owned Breitling for a new one.

"We are very excited to provide consumers in the United States the convenience and easy process of trading in any watch online and receiving a premium credit that can be applied immediately towards the purchase of a new Breitling watch online. We strive to offer our customers the very best in e-commerce, which includes a vast array of payment options, including financing and now trade-in on Breitling.com," said Breitling USA President Thierry Prissert.

"We have always seen ourselves as stewards of the brands and their legacies, so it's an honor to work with a renowned brand like Breitling in this new landscape of re-commerce," said Hamilton Powell, CEO and Founder of Crown & Caliber. "We believe that by pairing the trust and transparency we provide our customers with the respect that Breitling commands, this program will be the new future of the luxury watch market."

Interested owners should visit the Breitling website and request a quote for their watch.

an interesting experiment but at the end of the day if people have to buy straight from breitling and gets no discount then people are still not gon' go for it

Pretty much. 20% over the lowball offer isn't much either.
