LeBron's Cavs were always going to be fighting an uphill battle against the KD Warriors because of their severe disadvantage defensively. Other than Underdog, basically everyone that GSW put on the court was a capable-to-good defender. Same couldn't be said about the Cavs.

Cavs were an all-time great offensive team, but so was GS, and they had the defense on top of that.

More than any other defender he faces in the NBA, Harden sees Curry as a pathway to points. Even though Harden averages 48 points per 100 possessions, that number fluctuates a ton depending on the defender, according to Second Spectrum data. Thompson holds Harden to 20 fewer points when he is the primary defender. But against Curry, Harden surges. In the 2018 playoffs, Harden poured in 58 points per 100 possessions against Curry, and a disproportionate amount of those points came from the free throw line.

There’s probably never been a basketball player that when he’s on fire, lights it up like Klay. Dude goes into god mode with his shot. Wish Kerr didn’t take him out of that game that he went crazy. Could’ve dropped 70-80 points if he continued playing like that.

I hate that. Let a guy go for history. 70 is a magical number in the NBA. You should at least let a guy go for it. And, Klay lights it up in the flow of the game. Booker's 70-point game was a farce (as entertaining as it was).

I’m putting the 2015-2016 Cavs team up against any team in NBA history.
Basically Lebby, Love, Kyrie, & Tristan vs. Steph, Klay, Dray, & Finals MVP Iggy.

Only MAIN difference the next year was the addition of KD. That's HUGE, but the Cavs got WAXED.

How can you reason that you would take that team against any Finals team in history when all it took was them adding one of the greatest players of all time to get waxed 1 year later? Any team in history but they got killed exactly 1 Finals later. 👀

Ooooorrrr... are you calling that next year's Dubs team the GOAT?

For real. Post-merger, the best teams (in chronological order): '83 Sixers, '86 Celtics, '92 Bulls (underrated, btw), '96 Bulls, '97 Bulls, '01 Lakers (factoring in how they closed the season and 15-1 playoff record), '17 Warriors. That Cavs team ain't beating any of them. The 2016 Cavs needed a Draymond suspension to win.

'87 Lakers in that elite tier too. 65 wins. 15-3 in the playoffs beat the Celtics that returned almost everybody from '86.
