Just because a product goes through various hands does not mean its being "stepped on". That term has nothing to do with how many see theproduct before it hits the streets. Hell, you could be the one growing and selling and still "step on it" and its only been through your hands. You're right, the term means diluted, but has nothing to do with the amount of "hands touching it".

And no, everytime they are sold they're not stepping on it. If you buy 10 bricks for 100k thats 10k a brick. If someone you know only wants one,you're not going to sell it for 10k are you? No, you can sell it for 15-16k and make a profit "without stepping on it". The same might not besaid for the person you sold it to.
