My parents just sold my car today for 6k (99 Volvo S80) and are looking for a car to buy for me since I will be a freshmen in college this Fall. We are lookingfor something that gets good gas mileage, is dependable, isn't expensive to repair, automatic, safe, & under 8k. I'd prefer a 4-door to keepinsurance lower too

Civic... Im in College, and I drive one... Can find one for lower than $4000... Gets about 27MPG city... And its about $30ish for a tank... And easy to fix andinexpensive

Honda Civic
Honda Accord(depending on year)
Toyota Camry
Toyota Corolla
Nissan Altima
Nissan Maxima
etc

03-05 cobalt ss/sc you can find one for 10k...it will get you to and from school has a supercharger and is really fun in the twisties..oh and it gets 30mpg.

08 altima coupe ftw...thats what im pushin.

if you want a 4 door, get the sedan but the coupe is sportier.

IMO

altima>civic in terms of looks. You'll turn more heads. As for performance, id have to pull up specs.
