What is going on with resale prices for (not too old) Jordans?

I look on eBay nowadays and am just dumbfounded at the prices people are paying for retro's that just came out in the past couple years.  Did the Concord fiasco really turn everyone THIS crazy over shoes?  I really can't believe prices I've seen people asking for shoes like White/Red XII's, CDP single shoes, etc.  I think people are going to be kicking themselves in a year or two when the interest dies down.

Seems to only be going on with what's currently hot though, I've gotten some downright steals on dunks, AF1s, and other stuff that aren't on people's radar. I can't wait for the bottom to fall out on sneaker speculators and for people to be willing to move a lot of shoes at a loss. It'll finally let me fill in those gaps in my collection that I've been waiting on.

It just seems any big shoe that's been retrod in the past 5 years has a $200 premium on top of whatever it used to sell for at this time last year. I think dunks are under the radar for most people. I have gotten some good deals on air maxes.

Yeah I've seen some good prices on AMs too, but for the most part there isn't too much in that realm that I want to pick up right now since the OG Mesh AM1s pop up so rarely in a size 11, and I never really see the 93, 96, 94 that I'm looking for.

Yea im always seeing outlet deals on airmaxes

And the sad thing is that not all of them are DS.

Worn shoes going for over $250 is ridiculous; talking about retros.

its you new young dudes out here who are willing to drop the bread. if people wouldnt place such high value on kicks then everything would be cool

I dunno, I've sold a ton of stuff over the past year and while every now and then I get some good buys, most of it is standard. I don't think you can really judge the market based on a few that may have sold high.

For instance, I had to relist my Mars 4's twice, and my Fire Red 5's three different times. Neither sold for anything crazy either, I think I got like 150 for the Mars.

Even Foams that everyone claim sell for crazy prices-- I've seen people say they saw beat Cactus Foams go for 300+. I wish those kinds of buyers would have seen my auction, because I had a damn near flawless pair of Cactus in size 11 (common size) that barely went for over 200.

I can't get over people asking $100.00-$200.00 more for PRE-SALE auctions on ebay for shoes they don't even have yet.
You give me $350.00 and when playoffs XII's drop i'll get you a pair. do people get there coin back if they don't cop???

The funny thing: most of these shoes that are going for crazy amounts now are shoes that sat and went on sale. DMP VII's pack was going for like the price of one pair of shoes at one point. Raging Bulls were selling below retail. Now it's just madness.

There are releases that I've missed out on over the years due lack of funds. Happens. I'll be damned if I'm going to just hand over double retail for a pair of Retros, most of the time ones with average quality.  I'd rather do without.

Two people tried to get me to drop $300+ on Volt Griffeys. "Just look at recently sold pairs bro, you're getting a steal."

They've relisted several times since then with no takers.

If you're willing to pay a premium, a seller will take it.

I've played the waiting game and it hasn't failed me.

Luckily I'm into more than just J's so the steals I get on other Nike's + the outlet cops help to even it all out.

One more thing, some of those auctions get pumped up by people who have figured out methods to get away with "shill bidding" by basically having someone they know push their auctions up. Some of those auctions don't tell the true story as they're not always sold for those final values.

Are Jordans really getting hot again? Been out of the shoe game for like 6 years. Jordans were crazy back then. I know they hit a bit of a lull for awhile.

This. I've seen yellowed / worn '09 Spacejams go for around 300+ really? Couldn't believe it, and people were making offers too.

I know, ive been looking for some of the recent XIV retros(not white/red) and cant find a single DS pair for a reasonable price. And its not just ebay, prices all over are sky high.

That's insane!!!!
(heads to eBay to list worn shoes)

WHITE RED XIII'S FROM 2011 GOING FOR 300 is insane your right they were going for a bill and a little over when they first dropped and months after that now i guess its just shoes drying up or i dont know but its too much

I almost lost it when I saw a pair of Collezione XVII go for $285! These were going for around $100 not too long ago.
