So to those who ever played organized sports albeit pee wee football, little league, high school, college, pro, etc.

What number did you wear on your jersey and is there any significance to it?

I played football for Centennial High School in Corona, CA and wore # 41 for many reasons:

4+1 = 5 (#5 is my favorite number and it was already taken, pretty sought after number too)

Glen Rice was playing for the Lakers back in those days and he wore the number.

Lorenzo Neal wore it (I played Fullback in high school)

high school football # 37 and #2
High school basketball #1
High school baseball # 99
High School track # 516
College Basketball #1
College Football # 37

#32 in sixth grade basketball I went all out with meanings

32 was Rip Hamilton's number at UConn
32 is 23 backwards
3x2 = 6, the grade I was in
3+2 = 5, the room number for my first class at the school

High school summer league - 1 cuz they gave it to me.

I was a lazy bastard in school so I never played organized sports.....

But I always hooped w/ the team in school and around the city....

When I played in leagues, I was always #11

in 5th grade on my club bball team i was #50.
later on i changed to #1.

don't remember my number when i played during school though.

I kinda like 44 in basketball just because of Jerry West and how good it looked on the old school Laker jerseys.

But 44 is definitely nice in a football uni.

Never played organized spoirts, but when I do...it will be number 7 for basketball and soccer. I'll start with 12 though because that's the last time Itook sports seriously..

freshman year - 22 was handed the number...didn't mind since the best player from my school wore that number (jason kapono).
following summer - 13 picked it...i was a big fan of steve nash during this time.
sophomore year - 35 only number left...all the good numbers got taken.

i wish i kept 13...definitley played my best while wearing that number.

youth league years, i wore number 1.
-numbers were relevant to shirt size.
-smallest kid on the team---> smallest number and shirt size

High School, I wore 20.
-given freshman year
-continued to wear it after due to passing of cousin and her baby she was carrying at the time during spring break frosh year.
-2 lost loved ones, (0) no one can replace them.

Practice I wore 2
-motivate myself that if I don't work hard, I'm going to take the backseat.
-always seen as the underdog, never top pick--> got to prove people wrong
