What sneaker made you become a Sneakerhead?

When the Jordan IV's first dropped. That was when I started noticing and caring about sneakers as a kid. A shame I can't stand Jordan because he was my hero growing up. Have not purchased J's in 2 decades. He's still the greatest basketball player of all time despite my feelings about him.

what's your beef with MJ?

When I realized he was as money hungry as the companies that sponsored him. And when I realized he did'nt give a **** that children were getting killed over his sneakers. Not that it was his fault but he could have addressed it decades before he finally did. Dude is one of the greatest athletes to ever live but as a person he hurt my heart when I was old enough to realize he was just a greedy egotistical prick. Dude was my hero as a kid. I had framed pictures of him in my room and everything. :smh:
I'm not the only one who feels this way he's been called out on this over the years numerous times.

French Blue XIIs from 2003 i believe. was in the 10th grade. thought $125 for a pair of kicks was insane, but it was my first pair and i was hooked.

Always liked Jordans when younger. I just only had 1 or 2 as a youngin tho. Was at local mall with girlfriend back in 2001. Saw the Carolina blue low 17s. Asked if they had them? They did so I bought em. Didn't hardly take em out the bags they came in because I didn't wanna dirty em up. I wondered if there were people out there like me who just bought shoes but couldn't wear them? I then stumbled upon NT and some $15-$20K later the rest is history. If it wasn't for NT I'd be rich lol

a near -brand new pair of cream/tannish lowtop uptowns(air force ones) 1 of my cousins gave me in 1994(prior to recieving that i was rocking L.a gears )..1995 - fila grant hills..didnt look back since..always liked nba basketball during mid 90's(pippens,jason kidds, garnetts, webbers, barkleys, etc) more so then jordans ( overall mainly cared for jordan 2s,3s,4s)

the first time i saw Retro Jordans, mainly the 1’s, 3’s-11’s and the first time I saw Bathing Apes and the whole culture of the crazy colors on Bapes and AF1’s

I kid y’all not. First sneaker I stood up for and said “I want those”.

I’m glad he’s back with Fila. Hopefully they’ll properly Retro his signature lines.

First sneaker I bought myself was in LA. Visited from NY, cousins said no funny *** colors. Took me to the mall and I picked these up.

After these it set off a chain reaction till this day. Usually just one and done back then, would have been a pain trying to keep all of these. Bought these in each color way shown by myself, most were from the outlet, but whatever

Been on it ever since.

Adidas Shelltoe Superstars.... to the point where I owned pairs in various colours. First Jordan was Jordan 13 Low's in dark Blue.

Shoes I had: Air Max CW Nike Air Pippen 1, Nike Air Max 1 Griffey

OG Jordan XI blk/red and Nike Air Penny 2 were the first two shoes that made me feel some type of way not having em
