NO, He is not...he is an basketball icon (Mainly USA), Michael Jackson is the global icon, not just in music, but overall as a human. Jordan isnot a humanitarian, he did not come close to significantly changing cultures as Jackson did, he is not even in the same breathe as Michael Jackson. Jackson isin the company of the those like Muhammad Ali.

Michael Jordan as great as he is wasn't much involved in any weird/strange behavior like Michael Jackson.

What made Michael Jackson so great was the way the paparazzi and media tried to dissect his life inside/out with countless pictures, specials, tabloidarticles, etc.

Jackson was a global icon. Almost everyone in the world knows who he was. He touched the world in more ways than just music...he was also a humanitarian.

Music is a more accessible medium for the masses than sports. It can be found on tv, radios, cars, movies, clubs, etc where as sports can only be found instadiums/arenas and tv.

Michael Jordan is the best basketball player of all time but he was never the biggest athlete in the world even in his prime. If you want to take a look atglobal sporting icons look no further than guys like Muhammed Ali who had an impact on and off the field of play. Jordan was never a humanitarian or advocatefor social change so he will only be remembered for his great on-court accomplishments.

Also, basketball is not as important in other parts of the world as it is in the U.S. Even in countries which produce very good ball players such as Argentina,Spain, France, Serbia, Lithuania, etc. basketball is nothing compared to sports like soccer. Thus, Michael Jordan's death will probably not be thatsignificant in other parts of the world. On the other hand, while basketball is only signficant in some parts of the world, music is huge everywhere.

it will be epic, but not like the King of Pop

Jordan didnt change the world nor did he help causes

Hell no .

& I'm a Jordan fanatic .

He just hasn't impacted enough people on a personal level ... we don't know how MJ really is outside of the game .

Michael Jackson was always in the tabloids, had the trial, and his way of living was just odd to a lot of people. He was looked at as almost a freak when hewas alive and now that he's dead, everyone seems obsessed with learning more about him. Michael Jordan was never like that- He was always in the spotlightwhen he was playing ball, but hes done a good job of just living normally. Even if he passes suddenly, he wont have the same kind of global impact as Jackson -but it will probably be huge nonetheless.

No. The only reason I didn't post a rolling smiley is because death isn't funny.
