doorman jobs are hard to get-esp here in NYC!  Unfortunately its who u know, since they have to get you into their Union and into a good building.  A lot of good locations are never going to open, since most doormen got over 20++ years there-so they got seniority over the new ones coming in...

as for Security-you will make more money if u have certification to carry a firearm.  Look into armored car security-those guys make decent loot...
