i remember reading about how slave owners would breed slaves for certain specifications. much like breeding dogs or something. **** was sad

The trip on the slave ship was hell...

So right from the get go there was survival of the fittest. If you weren't physically tough enough to endure the trip across the Atlantic in these harsh conditions, you died and your corpse was just thrown off the ship. The ones that were tough enough got to carry on their genes throughout the rest of the history, which I'm sure is one of the reasons for why so many black people excel at sports.
