In New York state, possession of under 28 grams of marijuana is on the same level as a traffic violation/parking ticket. Do these kind of civil citationsappear on a background check? Any info would be great, thanks.

OP it depends on what sort of background check they are doing, and who's doing it.
At my company we use Accurint to run background checks on people and the Accurint reports will show traffic infractions which cant be treated much differentlythan a weed ticket.
If you want to sign a release form, paypal me the cost of the search, and have me pull a background check on you and email it to you let me know.
