To render patent leather u have the black base color then u create another small path filled with light gray on top of it. For this rendering the small graypaths are at the front and at the bottom.

The zoom GP 09 (Gary Payton), did couple of little rough sketches and went straight to PS. Ankle and lateral TPU supportive structure, Wrap around patent toe box and leather.

Good start Ben Johnny: You have some nice designs, but the proportion are killing it. Ben is right, Get a template or create your own and use it Morning sketch and rendering. "Foamposite front" I might change some stuff on the shoe, like the collar and the lines on the foam.
