If they trade him it'll be for picks, young players, and expiring contracts. That's why I think he's going to the Clippers.
Kaman (12 mill expiring), Bledsoe, Aminu, and Minnesota's 2012 pick that's damn near guaranteed top 3. Makes too much sense.

That way the NBA can sell the Hornets to whoever and that owner won't have to pay the luxury tax, will have drafted one of Barnes, Lamb, Davis, or Drummond, and still have their own pick which will probably be in the lottery. The Hornets and they're owner are damn near set for the future if that goes down.

Meanwhile in LA..

CP3/ Mo/ Warren

Eric Gordon/ Leslie

Caron or Tayshaun/ Gomes

Blake/ Thompkins

All they have to do is fill out the roster and they're a 2nd round team at the absolute worst.

NBA lockout didn't do *%%*, these guys are still going to go and form super teams at the same places and the small markets are still going to lose. I am just hoping somehow CP3 ends up with the Clippers and Dwight goes to the Nets, would be nice to see some of these teams that haven't been able to do anything make a push for once.

During the last great era of 5s, can you name the PGs you speak so highly of that directly benefited from playing with those 5s? I'm trying to make sense of your argument. I mean Derek Harper/Doc Rivers compared to some of this era's top PGs....
What I'm saying is alot of these guys shoot/score many of points but aren't necessarily great setup men... Brevin Knight with hops= Rondo, DRose is just Kevin Johnson reincarnated... Look at Andre Miller, dudes game isn't flashy so he's never brought up...
I have a feeling when all's said & done 2 or 3 of these "PG golden era" guys will be HOFers

How is anyone in their right mind gonna put Westbrook ahead of Nash and Rondo? Anyone who says that is definitely not a decent point guard themself.

CP3
D-Will
Rondo
Rose
Nash
Wall
Westbrook
Parker
Kidd
Curry
Andre Miller
Jrue
Chauncey
Jameer
Jennings
Mo Williams
Lawson
Felton
Collison
Augistin
Lowry
Conley

Seems like everyone forgot about Nash, he does everything CP3 does, only knock on him is age and D.

Last year of his contract and looking for a ring, Knicks fans should really be looking his way for PG duties. Could become an offensive juggernaut, cause who really believes you guys are going to buy into defense?

Nash in NY this season, i think they could easily battle ECF with the Heat and possibly win.

sure the schedule might hurt him but they would be good.

Conley at 22?!

Here's my list of starters:

Paul

Williams

Rose

-----------------------------

Nash

Westbrook

Rondo

Parker

-----------------------------

Curry

Billups

Wall

------------------------------

Harris

Kidd

Miller

Holiday

Lawson

Felton

Conley

Jennings

Collison

Nelson

Stuckey

Augustine

Mo

Honestly, anybody out side of Wall can move anywhere on the list. No one is THAT much better than the other guy on that 4th list.

I agree that Westbrook can move back a few spots behind Rondo and Nash as well. I'll take Nash over Westbrook right now, but not Rondo.

How could Rondo ever be ranked ahead of Rose... how? One is a part, the other is a franchise. One is always in trade rumors, the other is an untouchable.

Let me put it this way....
Yea Rose is legit untouchable right now, but in 10 years Derrick wants to stay... but he isnt as good but has value. You really want to be the GM who trades a 13 year vet from his home town?

Rose is the better player. Rondo is the better point guard to lead a team. Better defender, better creator, more intangibles. Could be the MVP of his team without scoring a single point. Everything you could possibly want in a point guard besides not being able to hit the open shot.

I don't get ranking Russ over Nash or Rondo for that matter. Rose should be 2 or 3. Paul at the top.

Still dont get the defense or intangible aspect....
His own damn teammates had to go keep Chris Paul from killing him last season. Its love hate at best.
+ does intangibles mean not taking the shot?
Even Chris "I got to be a pure point guard. I just have to" Paul tries to and scores in the playoffs when they need wins. Just cause Rose isnt the sole creator on his team doesnt mean that the Bulls cant pass.
Its just like dudes who would look at Tony Parker side ways cause Manu creates half the shots. Why does it have to be an inditement on Rose?

I have said it before and I will say it again. NO team since 1990 has had a single player for said team average more than 8 assists and win a title.

So he's the Tebow of PGs.That's kinda important though....hitting wide open shots that is. Anyways, your opinion.

^ A good pg should be a very good passer/distributor. Nobody is saying "the Bulls can't pass" TP has the advantage of having Manu on his team cuz he's a sg that's that good at creating but that doesn't mean TP isn't just as exceptional at it.

Intangibles is a lot of the hustle plays and other small yet important things that don't show up in stats; tipped balls in the right place, getting in the passing lane, keeping the ball alive, diving for it, taking charges, etc. Rondo is very bothersome defensively, he aint no lock down defender but he's good. Bringing up Chris Paul isn't a fair example, just because every other pg is gonna take a pounding from dude doesn't mean because ppl call Rondo a good defender that the same won't happen to him.

I don't even know what this means. You're saying a guy who is such a liability in crunch time that he can't have the ball in his hands is more important than the guy who just led his team to the best record in the league?
