James Jones is younger and is a better shooter. Heat don't really need him for his defense that much since Wade and Lebron are better than him at guarding 2s and 3s and battier will get like 20 min a game anyways.

I've witnessed Battier trying to guard Rudy Gay and Durant and he has failed. Anybody that's long and athletic, he can't defend.
Good pick up by Miami though. They better hope he doesn't leave off last season shooting percentages. He shot terrible from downtown in the playoffs and not so well in his stint with the Grizz.

I won't be scared of the Heat until they bring in their Tony Allen, PJ Brown, Perkins and Rondo.
They have their James Posey in Battier.i guess Haslem could be their Big Baby. They still need that upgrade at PG and C if they really want to be considered unstoppable. Curry is not an upgrade IMO. Even if he's in shape, he can't defend nor rebound.

Good pickup for the Heat. Of course I thought the same thing last year when they got Mike Miller so we'll see.
If I were the Pat Riley I'd rather take my chances with Pittman rather than sign Eddy Curry.
