and it just reminded me of how much I dislike him, and how I have no respect for the guy as a person. Thought i would share.
@kingtre, lol- not me - but i wish i had an oppurtunity to square off with him

Although I see where you're coming from, is he really racist for his statement?
Lin's talent speaks for itself, no race statements can take away from his raw talent. But can you honestly sit here and say that the fact that he's asian isn't making people slob all over him even more?

Talent is talent, and he has it, no doubt about it. But the amount of hype he's getting isn't just from his talent. There are a lot of people going crazy over him because he is an asian guy going ham in a sport that has always been dominated by blacks and whites.

Me? I'm a Lin fan now, the boy has been showing talent. All he needs now is more time and spotlight to allow him to show people that he's for real. A couple good weeks is great, but what I want to see is him have a great career, only in due time though.

He's Yao 2.0, only this time I actually like the player.

It just seems that your anger is fueled more by the fact that he isn't fighting Pac, rather than his opinion on Lin. Because at the end of the day, he is entitled to his opinion. Just as you have yours towards him.

Floyd supports his people. Just as many asians support theirs, just as many hispanics support theirs, etc etc. He is a prideful guy who wants to see his culture dominate. Can you really hate on that? Can you sit here and say that you haven't heard family members/friends/strangers with the same feelings and opinions about athletes from their cultures?

And you want to square off with duke? C'mon son, he may fight guys who you feel aren't competition, but he's fighting other PROFESSIONALS. Dude fights for a living and is a champ at it, thats an outlandish statement

Great basketball is great basketball. Talent is talent. Lin is great, but even I gave the

face when people started saying he is better than Rose, CP3, Rondo, etc. And I'm a fan.

Don't really ever post. But this caught my eye.

I've been enjoying the Linsanity train as well, not because I'm Asian as well, but because to me race has nothing to do with it. Yea, it's an easy thing to acknowledge, but for me personally, his race isn't what gets me, it's the fact that he went undrafted from Harvard, got cut from two teams in the same season, got picked up from the D league, went from end of the bench to starting, to catching everyone attention. I mean hes been pretty much set up to fail, but somehow made it. His race is just a plus. If it was a white dude, black dude, or mexican dude, but had the same background, I'd still be pumped. Thats just the media for you, anything for a hot story. This just my personal opinion tho.

Anyways, did Wayne really wear that to the grammys? Seems a little "disrespectful" if you ask me lol

Linsanity will be over once melo comes back. He can't function without isolation.

Knicks still not gonna get out the first round of playoffs anyway.

What i said has very little to do with PacMan- it has everything to do with Mayweather as a person. If you wanna "support your own people", why support this mockery of a person. Hes a detriment to people in general- he has consistently made racist comments through the years, is an arrogant, ignorant, showboating man that throws money into crowds and shuts down traffic to gloat. He hits women, and takes cheap shots at people, like he did in his last fight when the ref hadnt told them to continue and his opponent wasnt even looking. If anything, hes a detriment to "his people" by acting out stereotypes and continuing to separate races and perpetrate bigotry. The man is about money- no more, no less- he dont give a damb about "his people" or you. Im down with good people, dont care about race- but some people wanna make it like that-

QFT!!! dude does nothing for his "people" or for the sport of boxing for that matter, he is gonna get embarrassed in the ring soon enough. The worst part is he has people that know nothing about boxing thinking that he is something special. Every notable fighter he has beat, he beat after their prime (hatton, de la hoya, gotti). Now he is just letting pac take fights while he sits around waiting for pacman to get worn out and slow, anyone that follows boxing and his history knows that he never took a challenge and has dodge other dudes before besides pacman. His comments outside the ring just show the world how uneducated he is, just like his dad.

Mayweather has done it again... Floyd has a fight to sell and the media and everyone else has played right into his hands yet again. Say what you want about the man, but he definitely knows how to put money in his pockets by selling a fight. And he does it every time by doing things like this. More ppl probably tune in in hopes that he'll lose than it is that tune in to see him win.

Talking about things openly takes the power away from words, and if Im wrong for it- my intentions were good. Peace
This isn't the "celeb forum". It's the Celebrities Rocking Heat thread.

So if we aren't talking about what they're wearing, talk of Jeremy Lin of Floyd Mayweather to this degree doesn't belong here at all.

To say race has NOTHING to do with Lin's publicity, is, naive to say the least. Much the same way his being a Harvard grad has SOMETHING to do with Lin's publicity.

But, back to my point, this has no place here to this degree. Take it to Sports And Training.

That's the most classic, old-school-lookin new-school pic ever. Must be in a tour bus or something, that VHS player, the OE, and the IV's make this look mad throwback.
