Give it to Mo!

Set the Premier League record for goals and led Egypt to it's 3rd ever World Cup, first since 1990, where he scored goals in both of the games in which he played.

Messi not nominated cause voter fatigue to me. It’s not even like he had a down year he was still the top scorer in his league and in Europe, was a key part in team that won a domestic double and their league only losing game all season. And Argentina (while tripping and falling into it) did make it to the round of 16 on the World Cup. Objectively that’s a fantastic season but by Messi’s standards it’s what we expect at this point. Which asks the question should these nominations be selected off just objectively great seasons or great season relative to who the player is. (Yes Barcelona has a disappointing champions league campaign for what they wanna achieve but still taking all combs into consideration it’s still a fantastic season)

what salah did last campaign, messi has been doing for the last decade and salah didn't win ****
messi does it so consistently that hes overlooked now.
if anyone in the world (ronnie included) did what messi did last season, we wouldn't hear the end of it.
if anyone in the world (ronnie included) did what messi did in the last match, we would be talking about it right now

who was the last player to lead the league in goals and assists?

having said all that, i want modric to win it. that magical run by the croatians was a masterpiece by modric (and raki tbf).
and i really think seeing iniesta retire without the individual awards he deserved was a wake up call that midfielders get overlooked all too often.

So we're faulting Salah for not being a French or Croatian citizen? His trash team would have never even sniffed the WC if it weren't for him, and he scored in every game he played in.

if this is the case, then messi would be up there too. he did everything salah did but better and he won trophies.

Messi didn’t get nominated bcs Barca looked very average & Argentina was bunz. Both teams have to step it up to capitalize on the remainder of his prime.

liverpool lost the league by 25 pts and egypt is egypt

i understand why messi is overlooked im just saying he gets graded on a different scale

Messi should be there. I'm not even arguing that.

Voter fatigue would be my guess.

Puskas noms

Not sure why that Salah goal is in there, he scored a much better one against us at Anfield last season.
McGree should definitely win that for his scorpion kick imo.

Salah led Pool to the CL final in convincing fashion while Messi did not. Barca has done a great disservice to La Pulga for maintaining a very ordinary team around him.

Im surprised how someone would put Salah over Modric. Are we watching the same game?

I’m honestly surprised Salah’s even in the top 3 over Grizzou or Donatello Mbappe

Modric over Salah? World Cup is big in the mind of voters as it should be. Taking a team deep into the tournament & into the final is a bigger accomplishment than taking a team into the CL final.

They put up 8 on a newly promoted team whose budget is proly not even close to an 1/8 of what Barca’s is. They shouldn’t have given up the 2 pts to be honest...

This serious?

Salah definitely deserves the nod,he had a historic season. He probably would've had a good argument for winning it too if the CL final played out differently

Given the momentum headed in that direction,I'm expecting Modric to win it. If he does he might as well be a lock for the B'dor. If he does he'd probably be the first true mid to win it since Nedved

Emenalo’s struggles with Granovskaia isn’t surprising. I just hope she doesn’t ruin the Sarri era.

Modric’s award run reminds me of Wesley Sneijder in 2010 - people thought Wes deserved the FIFA/Ballon d’Or too (he won the triple with Inter, won the CL, took his team to the WC final)...but it still went to Messi, rightfully.

If UEFA best player award was around then, Sneijder would have picked it up.
