I know alot of people don't know or remotely understand finance, especially as it relates to football... It was announced Barca is expected to earn €960m for the upcoming campaign with a net profit of €11m. The net profit will fall short of what was projected again which was at least €25m-30m. They were projecting €25m last campaign but fell short with €13m. An important stat on the financial health of a company is cash on hand. The more you have, the healthier you are. Barca has very little...

The wage bill is one of the 2-3 highest in all of football yet this team isn't remotely close to challenging for the multiple CL titles it should be challenging for with the GOAT on the roster. Signing oompa loomp, jordi alba, & busquets was a terrible terrible terrible move. It's hamstrung the team even more. I applaud Salty Xavi & Don Iniesta for knowing when to dip.

also buying malcom, gomes, digne, vermalien, alcacer, etc had to hit yall books negatively even though you offloaded their weekly wages in transferring half of them

I know there was some convo about Perez earlier in the thread but it's incredible what he's done for Madrid. The club debt is astoundingly low (I think it's in the teens) & cash on hand is bananas. Madrid are so financially healthy.

It's crazy how dating back to the Laporta era how bad Barca has been run financially. It's a miracle they won the trophies they did. Conversely, Madrid were leveraged pretty heavy with debt in the early 2000s but that's been essentially wiped away.

Hate to say it but Madrid & Perez's management is the model that big clubs should follow & it's not remotely close.

Make the call, Nasser

Both he and mourinho should go. Hope Barca drops 200 on mans..

That'd just be more hustling backwards for a club that already struggles to replace it's WC players...

Still have yet to replace Ron, Evra, Scholes, Vidic, Rio, RvP, Giggs etc so dont blame me if I don't think dude would be easily replaced

Barca dont have that kind of $ rn and are already looking at other targets but even with 200m you'd still be downgrading at that position, gonna have to pass.

haha we aint got it.
pogba not coming to barca...he's overpriced and too expensive.
as much as i like pogba i would rather have de jong tbh

the problem with getting rid of mou it sets a precedent where the star player has more say so than the manager. even though it's what should happen cause mou is trash it leaves united in a tough position cause no other manager would want to walk in to a situation like that. it shouldn't work like that but mou is an exception

and i disagree that some are saying pogba isn't replaceable. everyone is replaceable. and the amount of money you could get from pogba could effectively get you 2 class midfielders that would make the midfield better than it is now.

i think beans might be on the right track and just get rid of them both

I'd agree with this if it was simply down to beef with Pogba and it was the only strike against him but that's clearly not the case. There's been no marked improvement in the squad and players development under dude while the footy continues to be uninspiring.

2nd place last year proved to be a false dawn, everyone else in the league has gotten better while United look directionless on the pitch. Certain clubs change managers and implement their managers style with a quickness and dont have to drop 350m+ to play some decent footy. The 2nd most expensive squad in the world has gotten outplayed regularly by bottom table and freshly promoted sides, that's not down to Pogba...

No one outside of Lingard looks like a better player under Mou, everyone else has regressed and its year 3 and he still doesn't know his best XI.

The board doesn't even trust him to spend money the right way anymore and rightfully so given his track record with his signings and not getting the most out of them. His issue with Pogba isn't even the only beef he's had with one of the clubs best players,he's consistently thrown most players under the bus so it's no surprise that he's reportedly divided another dressing room

If Mou gets sacked,it'll be due to his performance and not reaching targets as key rivals improve, not his relationship with Pogba. The latter is just gonna accelerate what has seemed inevitable since the summer where he was ****ting on the board, players and fans and just creating a negative vibe around the club heading into the new season during preseason.

The fact that he still lives at a hotel by himself makes me think that Mou himself never expected to be there long term.

I get the premise of 'no one is bigger than the club' but it's really not that simple. The same thing that's happened at his last few stops is repeating itself and the one constant is Mou. He lost the dressing rooms and fell out with his best players at his last 2 clubs and ended up losing the war. Those clubs moved on just fine getting rid of him and keeping their stars in the process,I don't buy into the idea that both need to bounce at all.

If the manager was Fergie or Pep than sure but Mou? For what?? Not anywhere near being worth it imo

Give me keeping your best outfield player + a new manager with a fresh approach in a heartbeat over losing both

While I hear you.. pogba hasnt played even remotely near the level of Ron, Evra, scholes, Vidic, etc. He is replaceable. Pogba came back from that World Cup with a huge level of entitlement it seems, and if we keeping it a buck he wasn’t even their best MF. He lost all my respect when he was wearing our captain armband and saying in the media that he’s a united player.. for now. While he wears the shirt I will support him on the pitch.. but i think it’s best if we part ways come season end or even January.

Mourinho has his own issues but that doesn’t take away from the disrespect pogba has shown to the club and it’s fans..

Even if United sold Pogba for 200, as long as Jose is in charge the money would be wasted.

Dude is past it and he’s already ran up the checkbook at United and despite what silverware he’s brought in (which lets keep it 100, he hasn’t won what he was brought in to win. A EL cup is decent but that’s below United’s tier of expectations. That cup was expected, especially with the squad they had)

The clear and plain as day option is to get rid of Jose. United made this stupid mistake by seeing the problems he caused at Chelsea, and not keeping a tight leash on dude and his actions. This falls back on the club, not Pogba. Pogba came from a title winning club, just won a WC, and is by far the best player at United. Sure he shouldn’t be out in the media speaking about matters that should he handled in private, but let’s not act like Jose doesn’t do the same ****. Pogba is only doing this, because Jose created an atmosphere that encourages it. If the manager had more class and respect to his players, the players would have more towards him.

People spoke badly about Hazard, Fabregas, and a few other Chelsea players when Jose got sacked, and it was the same situation. There’s one common denominator in all of this. Different world class players, one same manager.

United ****** up when they extended his contract. And the whole “but who else is out there to replace him with?” Excuse won’t cut it, because there are still plenty of manager capable of playing attractive attacking, winning football. The club and the fans need to stop getting so caught up in the big names and look around at what resources are available.

Beans Beans said to get rid of both, and as an outsider looking in, I’d say **** it go ahead as long at it means getting rid of Jose. Because no matter what, at the end of the day if you keep Jose but sell players he will just bring in more players and continue the cancerous atmosphere in the club. So worse come to worse, just nuke the whole situation like beans said.

Valverde should be fired, and the Barca board needs a complete overhaul. The club had no business in giving extensions to Pique, Busquets, Jordi, and Sergi has played badly since his extension. Barca is an elite club and we should be financially as well. For Barca to only turn an $11million profit is asinine considering that this is Barca. This is a boar that has gone against the core values of the club to where there no longer is Mes Que Un Club. :smh:

We'll have to agree to disagree on this front since I think his comments about his future stem directly from his relationship with the manager. Even the way it got reported by the British press wasn't what he actually said, the OG interview in french had him saying that like Mou,he's got years left on his contract at United and doesn't know what'll happen after which isn't really controversial imo. He's never actually said a bad word about the club itself and has a good relationship with most of the squad/ is popular in the dressing room so I don't really see the disrespect.

He cut his vacay short to come back to the club to begin the season and by Mou's own admission, is a hard worker in training. If he's trying to disrespect the club he has a funny way of showing it.

When he's spoken out it's been pretty directly aimed at one person

He might not have been the best mid consistently over the tourney but they wouldn't have won the WC without him. Can't overlook his MOTM performance in the final as Kante had to be subbed off early. Frustration over the situation at the club coming off a WC win is only natural for any ambitious player who wants to win trophies which is why he echoed what most of us fans have been saying about the football we've been seeing.

In that same vein, DDG might not say anything publicly but there has to be a reason why he still hasn't signed his extension yet...

Seeing how the MF struggled against mighty Derby County,I can't see the squad finishing top 4 without Pogba when he's been literally the only creative outlet in attack...

Again like I mentioned before, selling your best outfield player is hustling backwards for a club that already finds it challenging to replace it's quality talent. Other quality players have done far worse to push for a move while their clubs have kept them

Well damn, I found a youth large Pogba shirt cleaning out my son's closet (Pogba's first year). I guess Beans Beans doesn't want it... :frown:

Rape Allegations: American Woman Files Complaint against Cristiano Ronaldo

renderTimingPixel.png
Ronaldo denies the accusations, the sex was consensual, according to him. Mayorga's lawyer's claim relies in part on a document, which includes Ronaldo's description of what happened that night. In that document, the soccer player is quoted as saying: "She said no and stop several times."

There are 2 questionnaires

  • In one (from December 2009) Ronaldo answers that he did have consensual sex with her
  • In the second one (from September 2009) which was send from a lawyer of Osório de Castro's chancellery to Osório and his colleagues, Ronaldo answers the question if she did scream or got loud during sex as followed: "She said stop or no several times. She said that she doesn't want to, but she has made herself available. Afterwards I apologized. But she never screamed."
A woman from the United States has leveled serious accusations against Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese soccer star, says Kathryn Mayorga, 34, raped her in Las Vegas in 2009. Later, Ronaldo paid her $375,000 so that she would never again speak about that night. Her lawyer, the German newsmagazine DER SPIEGEL reports in its latest issue, is now questioning the validity of that out-of-court settlement in a civil complaint in Nevada.

In DER SPIEGEL, Mayorga has now spoken publicly for the first time about her encounter with Ronaldo nine years ago and tells her version of what took place in his hotel suite.

Ronaldo, Mayorga claims, raped her anally. Afterwards, she says he asked her if she was in pain. "By this time, he's (...) on his knees. He says the 99 percent thing." He insisted, Mayorga says, that he was a "good guy" except for the "one percent."

If there was ever a year for atleti, this is it.

Year for what? If it’s for La Liga, Wasn’t too long ago they won that... definitely achievable again this year...

But Atletico are looking like they want/have CL trophy aspirations. Tell you what I’d put them ahead of City, easily, Guardiola don’t want Cholo problems.

We’re shooting for CL this year, it would be nice to get a lil treble under our belt this year with a la liga title. We just reupped our spending cap so expect atleti to crack open the warchest on transfers this winter and next summer window

The only thing holding back Atleti is Cholo at this point. He needs to show he can evolve his tactics & open it up a bit.

I like how we downplay “get a little treble” this season.
I’m not downplaying the greatness of a treble but it would be nice. we already have 1 piece of silverware and we still have a shot at 2 of 3 trophies left in this silverware chase. RM may lose points to us this weekend, Barca is missing a key man in umtiti and we’re gonna make it to cl ko stages god willing.

Diego hasn't scored in the league since February, Atletico players have a nice luxury of only getting backlash from Atleti fans

think the biggest problem at utd is not pogba or mou, it's woodward hands down. Club has been rudderless since fergie retired
