He's actually a hell of a 1 on 1 defender and has an amazing standing tackle. Plus his recovery speed makes him a great full back. He actually said he prefers to play LB now over LW.
I've only seen a very limited amount of matches but I agree with this assessment. I don't think there's even a question on what position he should play. Plenty of good wingers around but there's a fairly limited pool of top tier fullbacks and they all carry a hefty pricetag.

Celebrating with this tonight vtotheinay vtotheinay

vtotheinay vtotheinay I'll be rooting for you guys to win the CL this year, no hard feelings about the 7-2 now that you've relieved us of being the greatest embarrassment this season in the CL. I guess I'll root for Lyon too but I don't see them advancing.
I hate that there are still 2 oil money clubs competing and I don't like Leipzig's handling of the 50+1 rule in the Bundesliga either.

Barca is not going anywhere as long as Messi is on the squad.
You can easily build and add pieces around Messi.
Just by replacing Pique, Busquets, and Llenglet you are back in the Semis next year.
Now if Messi leaves...then it's a different ball game.
A lesson I learned is you can't just wish away older players, you either wait out their contract or change what's around them. The older players I can see leaving is Pique, Vidal & Rakitic.

I don't know much about these things but is Alphonse Davies best position really Left Back?

he seems pretty over qualified for that given his offensive skills,

the best LB of the previous generation, Marcelo, basically picked and chose matches he cared to defend in. A great attacking fullback (left or rightback) can unbalance and overwhelm an opponent. And it makes your attack much less rigid and more unpredictable. It’s a gamble because when you lose possession and you’re upfield you can be exploited, but if you have a good defensive midfielder and CB in the squad they’ll be able to help cover the gap. Something that I’m not sure Davies has yet in his game that Marcelo had was the ability to loft a pinpoint cross through the air. If he adds that then forget about it.

Agreed. Davies has the ground cross down to a T. He's fed lewandowski all year with ground crosses but he forsure needs to add the aerial cross. Like you said, if he gets that. GG

Y'all looking at the scoreline which doesn't tell the story.

If you watched the first half, Barca could have been up 3-1 easily. Suarez has gotten old and slow and it was painfully obvious. That second goal Barca scored exposed how Bayern's defense is not that good also.

PSG with the pace of Mbappe and Neymar will be too much for them

Napoli could have washed Barca if they weren't in awe of Messi. Everyone at home licking their chops at the possibility of playing Barcelona for the next champions league.

Lewa might have had a goal but I didn't really see him do anything in the game

He affected the game in so many ways. He kept pulling 1-2 defenders wide wtih him and opened up the entire middle for everyone else to get into space and score. He was used as more of a decoy today and it was perfect. He's very selfless and has no issue doing stuff like this if it helps the team.

That is exactly what i came in here to ask you. He might end up staying if they win CL

I really hope so man. He is huge for everything we do. I get the allure of going to pool, but he has it MADE here. Top 3 club in the world for at least the next 3-5 years. Perfect system for him and he will go down as a club legend if he plays another few years here. I think if we win it there will be a big pitch from the board + players to try and get him to stay. That being said, if he feels it's time for a change I wouldn't be mad. I get wanting to prove yourself in another country and taking on a new challenge

Not like their execs need any more praise but clubs should really take notes on how they manage the club.

Replaced club legends like the likes of Ribery, Lahm, Robben, Basti, Kroos and Alonso seamlessly and are even better off after along with being able to swap managers and not skip a beat due to as rock solid a club structure as you'll find. Even had success moving on from their flops like Shaqiri, Benatia, Podolski, Gotze and Hojberg with ease

Of course it helps when the rest of your league are your sons/feeder clubs and you can stock up on quality talent for cheap but it's still impressive AF how they just keep on rolling regardless of constant changes to team personnel

This is very humiliating

Thought you would pick up on it, since a lot of words in portuguese and spanish look/sound similar.

Wait what? I said “no need to translate this”. Even someone who doesn’t know Spanish could understand what Pederol tweeted. Lol
