Arsenal have paid 150M for Odegaard, Tavares, Ramsdale, Lokonga, White, and Tomiyasu and it doesn't even look like we've improved our starting XI.

Yeah, with the new information regarding there being a set deadline on the 50 million agreement.. we dropped the ball. I understand we wanted the Zouma move completed first, but we should’ve just taken the risk.
But ultimately, I’m still not very concerned about our CB situation right now and hopefully we can go back in for Kounde next summer. We NEED a midfielder though. Kante picked up another injury and we don’t have enough options to avoid wearing out Jorginho & Kovacic.

Personally, I think signing Lukaku was backing him enough. Kounde would have been extra.
And we did spend a lot last summer because we sold Hazard and had the transfer ban the season before. But Tuchel wasn’t in charge at the time to make those purchases. Although, I don’t think he has an issue with the players that were brought in.
And yes, he seems happy right now. But I think the Conte situation scares a lot of Chelsea fans into thinking we could lose another great manager if we don’t back him to the fullest extent.

For example,
Mourinho wanted Sterling, Pogba and Stones. Board spent about 70 mill on Pedro, Rahman, Kenedy and Miazga. Pedro was the only good signing move
Conte wanted Lukaku, van Dijk, Nainggolan and Alex Sandro. Board spent 180 mill on Morata, Rudiger, Drinkwater, Zappacosta, Bakayoko and Barkley. Rudi was the only good move
Tuchel states he'd be happy with two or three signings (I assume he meant top tier players). From what I see, Tuchel wanted two out of those players; Lukaku, Hakimi and Kounde mostly. Remember, Haaland has always been board's top target. We got Lukaku because BVB refuse to sell Haaland
